Big Weekend!

It has been a really exciting weekend! Yesterday Mandy woke up and after her usual coffee put us in harness, and locked us in the car. We have not been in the car for a very long time, and we totally stressed out. But as soon as Mandy pulled out of the Man-Eating-Room, we calmed down and watched the world fly by. Everything was fine, because Mandy said we were going to go see Sam.

But then this strange thing happened! Mandy got out of the car and left us! She was not gone long, but it was very scary! Thankfully Mandy had a pair of pants in the back seat. I crawled under those and hid! When Mandy came back, she had smoothies and then we went to find Sam.

Mandy turned on the radio and we listened to music. We love to listen to music. I sat in Mandy’s lap while she drove, and it was fun. Once we got to the place Mandy says she goes everyday Sam came out and got in the car with us. It was fun! But it did not last long, Sam left us and Mandy started driving again.

When we arrived home, we were very glad to get in the house. We had no desire to play in the Man-Eating-Room; we wanted back in the house fast! After Mandy took of our harnesses and gave us a treat, I thanked her for taking us on a fun ride!

During the afternoon, Mandy let us outside and we played. Vacuum came out while we were outside, but you know what? Vacuum cannot come outside, so we are safe out there. We also listened to Mandy play Noise Maker. Peyton sat on the stairs and sang while she played.

Today was wonderful! Mandy and Sam came home this afternoon and ate here again. I like this new habit! And do you know what they ate?! Shrimp!!! I love Shrimp! And Mandy gave me a couple of bits, even though she says it not part of my diet. I just love shrimp!

After that scrumptious meal, I curled up with Mandy on the couch and snuggled. I like to show my appreciation for such tasty meals!

Well, the weekend is almost over and that makes me sad because I love weekends. This one has been especially fun.

Well, I’m off to play some more before this day is over.

Trouble

We got in trouble. BIG trouble. Yesterday, before Mandy left for work, she was putting on her shoes and she noticed a puddle next to the poinsettia. She cleaned up the puddle, only to discover that it was yellow, and it was coming from the plant. She said we could have at least had enough courtesy piddle in the dirt, rather than the wrapping around the pot. But that even worse, we had a litter box. “Good cats use the box, not the plants”—that’s what she said. We were in trouble, and rightfully so, but we are not claiming responsibility for that mess. Maybe someone else did it. She cannot prove it was one of us.

Well, Mandy said we could play outside this morning, so I am going to go out while I have the chance.

Family Time

This morning I was awakened by the most awful sounds! It sounded like someone was throwing rocks, by the truck load, at our windows and our roof. It was awful! It woke Mandy and Sam up and I was so scared I hid under the bed. Mandy and Sam said it was hail. I don’t know what that is, but it was loud and I didn’t like it.

This weekend was so nice. Mandy opened the windows and we got to play inside and outside! We also spent time together as a family. I snuggled Mandy on the couch. I cuddled into my blanket, which she was cuddled under. I snuggled into her shoulder and slept on her arm for a while. Sam was able to work from home some this weekend so he spent more time at home too. While he was home, we just spent time with him. We did not want to bother him, so Peyton and I snuggled up on the cat couch and slept while he worked.
Yesterday was very nice. After Mandy and Sam’s normal Sunday morning activity, they came home and Mandy cooked a feast! Mandy has not cooked a lot lately, but yesterday she came home and fixed a yummy looking spread! I thought maybe I would get some of that food, but instead, Sam opened the window in the kitchen, just for me! I was able to enjoy the beautiful outdoors without even leaving Mandy and Sam. It was super nice. Peyton was happy because he got to play outback since the windows were open again!

Well, I am going to go look out the front window. I love to watch the world pass by our home.

Baby Vacuum

That Villainous Vacuum had a baby. Would you believe it?! This tiny vacuum appeared this past week. I remember a small vacuum at Old Home, but the tiny contraption has not been out at our new home. This past week that wee Vacuum was out almost every day. The smaller Vacuum is not as loud or as scary as the big Villain. However, I was still glad when he went back to his closet.

We have been missing Mandy this week. It seems she has been really busy. When she is home, she has been letting us outside to play. Peyton goes out, but I am staying inside with Mandy. It is a nice time to have Mandy’s full attention.

We have been watching the Winter Games. I love to watch the skiing and speed skating. We also enjoy hockey. Mandy says it is funny that we watch the games so intently, but it really is enjoyable. We like when USA wins. After the half pipe when Shaun White won, Peyton and I had a party! We celebrated all over running and flipping. Mandy laughed at us, and said it was ok to cheer!

Mandy said she will stay home with us today, and maybe we will go for a ride! I am so glad she will spend time with us. Sam came home earlier last night and we were able to spend time as a family. I normally shy away from family time, but last night I was glad for it.

Well, I am going to snuggle Mandy and take a mid-morning nap. She could use one too, I can tell because her eyes are sleepy looking.

Good Night of Sleep!

I had a wonderful night of sleep last night! These last few days have been crazy, and so last night when Mandy and Sam curled up for their nightly talk I jumped on the bed and snuggled up to Mandy. She was cold and so she was in a tucked into a ball. I snuggled in as close to her as I could to try and help her warm up. When it was time to go to bed, I didn’t move. Mandy slipped down and snuggled between Sam and me. I slept there all night long! When the alarm went off I woke up and crawled under the blankets and snuggled Mandy some more. I slept so well! It is the best night of sleep that I can remember in a long time. I was warm and toasty on the soft bed, and I had almost half of the bed!

Peyton has enjoyed the cold weather, but I think it is just cold. I prefer to stay in the warm house. Peyton is working on learning how to open the doors by himself. He is getting pretty good at it, but the back doors are locked. He can open them when they are not locked. Mandy says she has to be careful to make sure they stay locked or Peyton would just leave them open all the time.

Well, I am going to chase Peyton and make him work out a little this morning.

Snow Free Day

Elway is such a whimp! He’s sitting in the corner freezing and his teeth are chattering. We did not get any snow. It is rather chilly outside, Mandy said it is in the 20’s, but it is sunny and pretty. I asked to go outside and Mandy said it was too cold. I asked again and again, and paced around the house until finally she let me out. Elway came too, but once he felt the cold air he froze in place. Mandy had to kick him out and close the door behind him. She only let us play outside for a few minutes and then opened the door again. Elway came right in and I joined him. I thought maybe there might be food involved in the open door. I was wrong though, so I asked to go outside again right away. Finally Mandy let me go back out. Elway refused to go, saying he was too cold. I ran outside and guess who was out there?! Strange Cat! We have become good friends; we talk through the screen regularly. Elway does not like Strange Cat, but I can see Strange Cat through all of the windows in the house. Sometimes Strange Cat is out front. That cat really gets around! Well, when Strange Cat left, I came back inside. It is kind of chilly out there.

Elway got in really big trouble the other day. Mandy came home from work, and heard this strange noise. She went to go check it out and found Elway INSIDE the noise maker. We are not allowed to touch the noise maker, and Elway was more than touching it, he was INSIDE. Oh cat, Elway…you are in such big trouble. Mandy had a little bit of steam coming out of her ears. I thought Mandy’s eyes might bug out of her face. It was pretty comical. Needless to say, Elway was out of the noise maker in a flash and hid in the other room. I was glad I was not in Elway’s shoes. Anyway, it took Elway a while to make up to Mandy.

Well, today is a wonderful Saturday. It means Mandy is home with us, and I love Mandy days. She plays with us, and snuggles us, and it is fun.

Well, I am going to tell Mandy to play with me.

Frozen Florida Felines

It’s cold outside. Mandy came home and let us play outside at lunchtime today. We were so excited to play outside! But let me tell you—it was COLD out there! Peyton and I jumped up on my shelf after being outside for just a few minutes. We cried and cried for Mandy.

Don’t let that flicker of sunlight fool you; it was only a split second of hope and it did not make me feel warm. Eventually Mandy took pity on us and let us in. Mandy says it is supposed to get colder tomorrow. The big talking box mentions snow, but Mandy says that is unlikely. I do not know what snow is, but it sounds cold.

We are running around like crazy inside and snuggling Mandy whenever she sits down. It’s just so cold. I am so glad Bomom sent us our blanket. It is snuggly and keeps me warm.

I will write again soon, if I am not an ice cube.

Villainous Vacuum

It has been a super few days. We have had a lot of fun playing around the house. Mandy gave us one of our mice back and we have been tossing the mouse all over the house! Mandy has also been chasing us so we would run and burn some calories. It’s fun!

However not all has been sunshine and playtime the last few days. That Villain has been out again. This time, Vacuum kicked me out of my house! Mandy let us outside to play and Vacuum came out and started his routine while we were outside. I was not happy. I made sure Mandy knew I was unhappy, even though she was inside assisting the Villain. She came out at one point and picked me up. She told me that I was safe outside because Vacuum couldn’t get me. But I sat on my shelf and shrank into the smallest ball I could and shook. When Vacuum finally finished and Mandy put him back in the closet, she came outside and loved me. As soon as I could I ran in the house and hid under my bed. That Villain had free reign of my house and I was outside. It was awful! I loathe Vacuum!

Sam and Mandy were gone most of the day on Sunday, but they left the Super Bowl on for us. Of course Peyton and I were cheering for the Colts. When Mandy and Sam came home the game was all over. Mandy asked Peyton how the Colts did, and Peyton hung his head and ran under the bed. Mandy got a good laugh that Peyton was upset over the outcome of the game.

We have been snuggling Mandy a lot lately. She sounds awful, but she doesn’t act like she feels sick. I do hope her normal voice comes back, because sometimes she scares me with this new sound.

Well, I am going to help Mandy as she gets ready for work. I like to help Mandy get ready to go; mainly because she turns the water in the sink to a light drizzle and lets me drink straight from the faucet. It’s great!! I think I hear her getting ready to turn the water on—have to go!!

Back in the Spotlight

These last few days I have let Peyton steal the limelight away from me. He’s been eating up all the attention…it’s kind of surprising. He posed for pictures, followed Mandy around, asked her to play and even cuddled her! She has just eaten up the attention; it’s shameful really.

So last night while Mandy was playing with Peyton, I decided I was tired of watching this sickening display of affection. So while Peyton was mid-jump attacking the toy from Mom-With-Cool-Toys, I swooped in and pounced on the feathers before anyone knew I was coming. I refused to give up the toy, and chased Peyton away. He slithered away and sulked. Cat-up Peyton!

I made it clear to Mandy that I wasn’t going to play and she went to get ready for bed. She told me I spoiled the fun and made me feel guilty. I figured I should try and make it up to Mandy and let her know I missed playing with her. I followed her into the bedroom and found my stuffed toy from Shrimp Dad and started attacking it. Peyton came over and stole it from me and then sat on it to keep me from playing with it. Ok, I did deserve that.

Mandy tried to play with us once again and Peyton was still moping and hid under the bed. So, I played with Mandy. I was fun and flirty. I wanted Mandy to know I still enjoyed playing. Sam even joined in the fun. We played Cat in the middle. Sam and Mandy threw my stuffed toy all over. I finally caught it and then proceeded to be so overjoyed that I ripped a hole in my toy. Mandy said she can fix it. I sure hope so.

I woke Mandy up this morning. I jumped on the bed, and crawled under the blanket and put my cold nose on her arm. She was happy to see me and got up to feed me breakfast. I will have to remember this tactic and try it again!

Well, it is sunny outside again. I am sure Mandy will let us outside today. I can’t wait! I love to sit in the sun!

Bug Fishing

Outside Playtime is much better than Playtime inside. I love to be outside. It has been nice enough that Mandy has been letting us play outside more. Elway always helps Mandy so much around the house, so sometimes I like pitch in, just so Mandy thinks I am earning my keep. So yesterday, when we were outside, I surveyed my outdoor kingdom to see if there was anything I could do to help. Maybe if I helped Mandy outside I could stay out longer.

Do you know what I noticed when I looked around? There are bugs in my big tub!

I decided to help Mandy by trying to fish the bugs out of the big tub.

It was hard to fish the bugs out of the big tub. There were a few times when I thought I might fall in. I moved all around the big tub trying to reach these bugs. Sometimes I got them, sometimes I did not.

Well, when I came back in, I was exhausted. I snuggled into my blanket from Bomom and Bonedad and slept.
What a fun morning.

Play Time!

Things are better around the house. In fact, things are great! We were low on food, and last night when Mandy came home, she was loaded down with food…and it was all for me! (And Elway). I am so glad to have more food in the house! I have not been eating much because I was afraid we were going to run out of food. Mandy says she will not let us run out of food.

Yesterday Mandy came home during the day. When she leaves in the morning, she is normally gone for a while and she had not been gone long. She promised she would let us out when she came home, so when she pulled into the driveway early we ran to the back door. It was play time! But she came in and scratched our heads, grabbed something she called Sam’s dinner, and left again. She did not let us out. We were very disappointed.

When she came home last night, we tried again to remind her that we wanted to play outside. This time, she let us out. We played and played outside. We chased bugs and night critters.

Back inside, Mandy grabbed our springy toy, and when we came in she played us for a long time. I was able to work on my jumping and flipping. Mandy says I am getting really good at my back flip. She said she is proud that my jumps are so high. Elway has been working with me to help me. I am trying to lose weight so I can get off this ridiculous diet. Mandy says if I keep up the good work, and the cat doctor will be proud of me.

Well, Mandy needs to get busy. I am going to hurry her along.
