Giant Monster Invasion!!

Just before Mandy jumped in the big tub yesterday she opened the window for Peyton and me! It was amazing to have free reign of the house and be able to wonder inside and outside! I was the first to venture out with our long lost freedom. Mandy laughed at me and watched me as I reclaimed our back yard! Just as I ventured to the furthest corner of our yard I saw a Giant Monster through the trees! He had large black ball-like eyes, bright orange bleeding out of his ears, a jet-pack on his back, and a magic wand in his hand that was spraying something all over the bushes. He was the scariest creature I have ever seen! I went flying into the house as quickly as possible. Mandy looked up from the big tub and laughed at me. She looked right at the Giant Monster and kept swimming! Eventually, I decided if the Giant Monster had not yet attacked that he would not and I was safe. I quietly slithered back outside. The Giant Monster was gone, and he has not come back. Eventually Peyton decided to join Mandy and me outside and he explored his favorite bush. He had to reclaim it from a tiny spider. Peyton had fun hunting and killing the spider. When Mandy finished in the big tub, we were both ready to go inside. It is so nice to have Mandy home and we don’t like to let her out of our sights for long. She closed the window again, but we didn’t mind because it was wonderful to have it open even for a short time.

Just before lunch, Mandy left us again. I was afraid she wouldn’t come home for a long time, but she was only gone a short while. When she came home she had an armful of food which she shared with us upon her arrival home. It is nice to have Mandy back to share with us again.

We greeted Sam when he came home; we missed him while he was at work. After dinner, Peyton and I stayed with Mandy and Sam while they watched a movie. But eventually we tired of snuggling and wondered off to smell the one box Mandy still needs to unpack. When we got to the box, we discovered frogs on the front door and window! They were outside so we could see their bellies, and watch them breath. You might remember my one experience eating a frog and I vowed I would NEVER again eat another frog, but I sure had fun watching them. Just before bed time Mandy and Sam lifted us up above the door so we could see the frogs up close. I sniffed and sniffed, but I couldn’t smell much through the glass. Peyton tried to bat the frog down, but the glass kept the frog safe. When we went to bed the frogs were still on the window. As soon as we got up this morning both Peyton and I ran to the front door to check on the frogs—they were gone.

Peyton completely made up with Sam and Mandy over night. He jumped on the bed and snuggled them and loved them. Peyton curled up on Mandy she loved him for hours. I was jealous. I curled up next to Mandy before she went to sleep and she loved me until she fell asleep, but it did not take long before she was breathing deeply. Maybe I will start cuddling her over night too.

I was hoping that Mandy would open the window for us again today while she was in the big tub, but it is still dark outside. It rained most all day yesterday and it is raining again! Well, I am going to check for the frogs again.

They're home!!!

Mandy and Sam are home! They left us last week and were gone for six darks! We were very lonely, even though the Nice-Girl-Who-Feeds-Us came to check on us. Peyton and I can hear her drive up and try to get in the house, so before she even opens the doors we are already safely hidden out of sight. When Mandy and Sam came home yesterday they were in a large funny vehicle, so we hid. Mandy started calling us as soon as the front door opened. I thought my ears were playing tricks on me, so I stuck my head out of the box springs and waited until I could see Mandy. She eventually stuck her head under the bed and I blinked at her. She was really there!!! I had missed her so much! I came out to see her and she gave me treats and fed me breakfast! Sam said hello too, but Mandy cleaned up the bathroom and cleaned out my box. Peyton refused to be friendly for a long time, but I told Mandy all about my week and checked out everything Sam brought in the house. It is so good to have them home!

Peyton and I spent the evening with Sam and Mandy. I snuggled Mandy whenever I could, but I also wanted to check out everything they brought in the house! It smelled like Mom-With-Cool-Toys and Shrimp Dad. I even smelled faint smells of ajulie and Opa. They must have had a fun time because we had to smell everything!

Peyton finally yelled at Sam and Mandy early this morning from the top of a small box on the dresser. I guess he wanted to make sure Mandy and Sam could see him. Peyton only woke Sam up, and Mandy grunted then rolled over and went back to sleep. What a silly kitty!

Well, Sam is getting dressed. I’m afraid he is going to leave us and go to work, but it looks like Mandy will stay with us. I am going to go check on Sam.

Boxes!!!

It is no secret that I love boxes! They are fun and wonderful because they keep me entertained for hours! Mom-With-Cool-Toys sent the box that I have been enjoying this week. Mandy moved it into the kitchen and started tossing things in the box for me to play with. The best item Mandy tossed in the box for me was the empty cat food box. I love having a box inside a box.

Boxes really are fantastic! Unfortunately, I can't keep the boxes forever. Like all good boxes of the past, Sam took it outside ending my play time. I was disappointed. But there will be more boxes!

Well, I’m off to tackle Peyton.

Changing People

You would not believe what is happening around here. Yesterday Mandy received a box from Mom-With-Cool-Toys. I know it was from her because it smelled of her. Mandy took everything out of the box and left the box on the floor for me. The box is the best part, and I was able to play in the box until Sam took it out at bedtime. But this story really isn’t about the box, but what was inside the box. Mandy pulled out all these strange things like clothes, bells, hair, beads, and jewelry. It sure looked like strange things for Mom WCT to send. Mandy pulled this strange hair out of the box and the next thing I know all of Mandy’s hair is gone and all of this strange dark hair is in its place. She looked so strange! Peyton did not see Mandy’s transformation and when he woke up from naptime and saw Mandy he freaked out. I thought that would be the end of the strange behavior but then Sam came home and he put on these scary looking clothes and it was awful! Peyton and I couldn’t even bare to be in the same room with Sam. Mandy says they are going to some custom party this week. These clothes are strange, and I will be glad when Mandy stops playing with them.

Well, it’s nap time, and I’m off to sleep.

Inquisitiveness

Whoever said curiosity killed the cat obviously had very dull investigative skills. I have spent the weekend scrutinizing everything I could and I am alive and well. It started off when Mandy brought home a drink with a long skinny tube in it. She has brought these strange drinking devises home before, so I figured it was time to check these contraptions out. When she put the tube in one of our glasses, she poured in some bubbly pink stuff she called 7Up, and sat down to enjoy. I figured this was the best time check out this tube. It was difficult to get close because the pink liquid was bubbling up onto my whiskers, but it tasted pretty good when I cleaned myself, so I kept investigating.

I discovered the tube was hollow! What a wonderful invention. I eventually knocked the tube out of the glass and unto the floor spraying a shower of the pink liquid everywhere. It was very sticky, but I did not mind the flavor when I bathed.

My investigation into new contraptions and ideas did not stop there. I do not normally help Mandy with laundry, Elway is the one who bothers to help Mandy, but this week I decided to grace her with a bit of my attention. When she was putting the soft cotton back on the bed, she tossed the big fluffy blanket on the floor. I crawled in to find a new hiding spot!

It was the most amazing soft, cuddly, snuggly hiding spot I have ever discovered. Eventually Mandy found me, which was unfortunate. She let me stay in my hiding spot for a short time but she did end up taking the soft blanket and putting it back on the bed.

Later when Mandy was putting away clean clothes I jumped in the clothes holder before Mandy could stop me. I dug my way to the back of the draw and snuggled in. Mandy tried to coerce me out of my new hiding spot, but I refused. She could not reach me, so I was safe.

Mandy stuck the clothes in the draw in front of me and left. Once she stopped paying attention to me, I decided it was not near as much fun to hide so I came out.

These adventures have been so much fun that today I am resting while I regain my energy so I can investigate more. I am off to nap.

You've Got Mail!

Mandy came in yesterday afternoon and woke Peyton and me up by yelling “You’ve Got Mail, Kitties!” Mail? What? Meow! We’ve never received mail before and I thought she was kidding. I watch her walk to the mail box almost everyday, and I've never received mail before. Sometimes she even drags me to the mailbox with her, and even then I never get anything from that box. I ignored Mandy's plea to come out, so she showed the letter to Peyton, since he was napping out in the open.

Peyton read the note and called me over to see it. I resigned to the fact that I was going to have to get up and get in on the shenanigans. When I came out, I found the letter and Peyton was right! We did get mail! Mom-With-Cool-Toys and Shrimp Dad sent us a letter while they were on vacation!

I can’t believe we got mail! It was so exciting! The letter smelled of far away places that I’ve never been too. Mom WCT says she found the card in Colorado. It smelled so cool! And the card had a picture of a cat that rather looked like Peyton. It was a funny card! Meow!

Getting mail was the highlight of my day! I might even go to the mail box with Mandy this afternoon to see if I will receive more mail today! Thanks for sending me mail, Mom-With-Cool-Toys and Shrimp Dad!

Of course the Villain ruined the moment by coming out and making a lot of noise. I hate Vacuum! But he didn’t stay out long, and Mandy helped me find a safe hiding place. And really, the evil Villain couldn't ruin my joy of receiving mail!

Snuggly Behavior

Mandy has adapted a strange-but-welcome new behavior. Every day for the past week, she has found both Elway and I during nap time and proceeded to wake us up. However rather than picking us up or wanting to play games, Mandy has simply sat down next to us and loved us. What a nice way to wake up! I let Mandy scratch my head and behind my ears, and upon occasion even my tummy. While she loves us, she also verbally admires our handsome stature. She compliments me on my pretty eyes and Elway on his cute face. She tells us how sweet we are and these snuggle times are simply delightful. I am not sure what brought this peculiar behavior on but since Mandy has started this extraordinary habit, I have allowed her to love me throughout the rest of the day, just so she knows these lovely wake-up calls are enjoyed.

Sam has not partaken in these new enjoyable daily routines. Instead, he has picked up a mean streak. Last night, Elway noticed that Mandy’s big tub outfit had fallen on the rain room floor. It startled him at first, and he had to inspect it to make sure it was safe. Sam opened the door to the rain room and picked up the fallen clothing article. Elway jumped in the rain room to make sure everything was in its proper place. After a few minutes, I joined Elway in the rain room. Do you know what Sam did? He joined us in the rain room. Elway quickly jumped out but I was not quick enough and Sam closed the door. I guess he wanted to make sure I was clean since I had just used the box, but I completely freaked out. Mandy came in and rescued me. She picked me up and loved me while Sam checked me over to make sure I was clean. It was humiliating. I let Sam go to bed while I was angry at him. Mandy lured me out of my pouting state by waking up Red Lightening Bug. We played together for a little while before Red Lightening Bug and Mandy went to sleep.

Well, that is all that I have to report for now.

War of the Window Picks Up

After Mandy saw me in the window the other day I figured I would make my stand. I want my window back, and I don’t care what Mandy or Sam thinks about it.

I guess I should have known that they would come down hard on me once they knew I was determined to continue to sit in my window. Mandy found me in the window again, and then turned the water on in the tub. By this time, Mandy should know that doesn’t bother me. Sam found me in the window again this morning and stuck me under the covers in bed and Mandy snuggled me. I didn’t want to be snuggled.

I was afraid Sam and Mandy were going to do something to my window the other day. They took the blinds down and cleaned it all out. Then they took this funny paper out of a long skinny box. They had scissors, spray stuff, and other tools, and then suddenly got very angry and put everything up. Apparently the paper wasn’t as long as it said it was. I’m glad because they put my window back together, and now it is super clean.

Yesterday it rained. It was glorious! You might be surprised that I am thankful for the rain, but it has been so hot here, and the rain meant the sun wasn’t shinning in our windows all afternoon. The house stayed cool! It was amazing! I actually cuddled up into my blanket from Bomom and slept with it because it was so nice in the house.

Well, I guess I’m going to ask for crunchies. Mandy looks like she might be willing to get up and feed me crunchies!
