Open Windows!!!

After days of being stuck in the house Mandy finally opened the windows last night! It was beautiful outside and I could hardly contain my excitement as I raced through all of the open windows! Then Mandy turned on our favorite TV show—Big Cat Diary. We raced back and forth from outside to the TV so we could watch the big cats run and hunt. Peyton watched as Honey the Cheetah raced at high speeds across the field and practiced his sprints from outside into the family room, around the noise maker, into the bedroom and back outside. He is getting pretty fast, but I don’t think he will ever be as fast as Honey.

This morning, Sam did not wake up with his alarm, so Peyton and I decided to encourage him to wake up by fighting at the foot of the bed. Our plan worked better than expected because we were able to wake up both Mandy and Sam! We were kicked off the bed, but we took our fighting to the floor, where eventually Sam woke up and yelled at us and it was his yelling that woke up Mandy! However, they just snuggled back into bed and went back to sleep. So, Peyton and I took our fighting to the curtains, and that woke them up for good! Sam got out of bed, and Mandy soon followed. After Mandy woke up, she opened all of the windows! It is rather chilly outside, so Peyton and I have been racing in and out of the house. We have explored every inch of our patio and it is safe from bugs, frogs, and ghosts.

Well, I had better go to make sure no goblins make their way into our patio!

Cat-Napped!

Mandy very sweetly woke me up from my nap, snuggling and cuddling me, so the last thing I expected her to do was stuff me in the car with a crabby Elway! She jumped in and backed the car out of the Car-Eating Room. I sat in the front seat for a while, but eventually I crawled into the backseat because Elway was calling me and Mom-With-Cool-Toys called Mandy. While they talked I yelled for Mom WCT to ask Mandy to take me home. Who wants to be in a car with a cantankerous cat, and a girl on a phone? Mandy did not talk to Mom WCT long, and then she turned on the radio. I love to listen to music! I sang with the song until Mandy stopped and pulled me into the front seat! I knew where we were! Pretty soon Mandy pointed at a door and Sam walked out! I stared at him as he walked to the car. He put something in the trunk and crawled in the car with us! I greeted him and hopped in the back seat so Mandy could drive.

Once we got home, Elway literally clawed over me to get into Sam’s lap so he could get back in the house. Mandy must have woke him up too, only he was cantankerous where as I was charming. I let Mandy carry me into the house, but she showed me the front door and the front yard. It was hot outside, so I was relieved to come into the cool house where Mandy fed me dinner.

Well, I am going to retire for my afternoon nap.

Kitchen Thief

Mandy has been cooking these magical veggies called green beans and I love them! They are long, skinny and stringy and I can flip them all over. I discovered the amusing qualities of a green bean when Mandy dropped one while she was cleaning them. I grabbed it out from under her feet and ran into the other room as quickly as possible. I figured she would take the new toy away, but she laughed at me and let me play with the yummy green bean.

She let me play until dinner time, but then my green bean disappeared. However, we have had green beans a lot lately, so I have been able to play with them regularly. Not only are they fun to play with, but they are good to eat! Peyton doesn’t like them, so I am able to play with the tasty treat alone. Peyton always try to steal away the toys. For example, Lightening Bug came out and I was playing with him but Peyton jumped in and started chasing Red. Sometimes he can be such a fun hog. So this morning, I told him what I thought about him butting in on my play time. Mandy tried to break us up, but we kept fighting. Eventually she tossed us outside, and we found more exciting things to do then fight. However, I don’t think Peyton will be interfering with my play time anymore.

Well, I’m going to nap.
Love,

Alone?

I believe all of our company has left because Mandy is still lounging around the house rather than rushing out the door. Bomom and Bonedad packed up their belongings and Mandy took them away yesterday. However, they have packed up and left before and returned shortly. I do not know if they are at their home high-in-the-sky or if they left. Mandy said we are alone, so I assume she is telling the truth. Sam and Mandy stayed home last night and were pretty lazy rather than cleaning house or running out the door.

Even though we had company, Strange Cat returned! Elway has deemed her scandalous, but I talked with her until that nosey cat chased her away. I am sure Elway was eavesdropping until he jumped out from behind the bush. He has to be involved in everyone’s business. I believe he is jealous because Strange Cat is my friend.

I slept on Mandy’s feet this morning to keep them warm after Sam got up. It is the first time Mandy has stayed in bed after Sam woke up in several weeks. Sam said to snuggle Mandy, so I did.

A leaf has fallen victim to Big Tub, so I have been trying to rescue it. Mandy never lefts leaves float in the big tub, so I have been trying to help her by fishing out this leaf. Mandy says I am being helpful and sweet.

Well, I am off to calculate my next move to get the leaf out of the big tub.

No Vacancies

We have had so many people in and out of our house in the last few days, I’ve almost lost track of them all. Even as I type this, Bomom and Bonedad are here sleeping. I think that Auntie and Uncle Tom are gone, because I have not seen them today. I liked Uncle Tom because we would slip me pieces of food under the table. I was as cute as I could be for him, and he would laugh at me and call me a cute kitty. As long as he wasn’t watching football on TV, he would talk to me and notice me. Auntie left her big bag on the floor for me, so I was able to crawl inside of it and smell all of the far away smells. Her bag is so big that I could crawl all the way inside. Mandy found me just before I disappeared in the bag and pulled me out. She said it was rude to dig around in Anutie’s bag, but I sure loved smelling all the new smells in there.

Peyton even accepted them and he would come out to be admired. They told him he was a regal kitty, and he sat and bathed in front of them. However, he missed out on all the good food slipped to me under the table. They told me to go find Peyton, but I wasn’t about to fetch him and share all those tasty treats. If Peyton didn’t want to come out, then that was his loss.

We’ve had so many people over that last night, when Mandy and Sam had a new person over for dinner, we came outside and played by the big tub while the new person was outside too!

Bomom is sleeping, and I am considering jumping on her lap just to make her jump. In fact, I think I might go try to startle her, or maybe I’ll just go sit in the kitchen. I think there is a plastic sack I can nibble on for a few seconds before Mandy takes it away.

Left Home...Again

Sam and Mandy left us home again and they took off with Suitcase. Sam put Suitcase in the car, and then Mandy, Sam, Bomom and Bonedad all climbed into the car and left. I am unsure where Sam and Mandy went, but I think Bomom and Bonedad lost them because they came home alone. While Mandy and Sam were lost, Bomom and Bonedad took good care of us. I think they might have been trying to be kind to us because they lost Sam and Mandy. Bonedad fed us and cleaned up after us, while Bomom admired my good looks. We had a nice time with them, until they left us too. I believe they went to their home that is high-in-the-sky because they did come back to enjoy our company. I missed them not sleeping here though. Bomom told us they would bring Mandy and Sam home, but since they lost them, I was unsure if they would really find Mandy and Sam. However, Bomom was telling the truth—Mandy and Sam came home! They were gone a long time and they smelled very strange, and Mandy and Sam have not slept like normal since they arrived home. They wake up at all hours of the night and wander around and then climb back into bed.

I have slept at their feet since their homecoming two days ago. During the first night, whenever Mandy woke up, I would crawl on Sam so she would love me. Sam would scratch my head too. I wanted them to know that I was thrilled they were home. I never stayed long so they could go back to sleep, but I stayed long enough to let them know I missed them.

Yesterday I was sitting with Bomom when Mandy opened the front door and brought in more people! Sam coaxed Elway out of hiding with treats and showed Elway the new company. Elway came back and told me it was Auntie who has the snazzy smelling purse and jacket. However, I knew there was someone else out there with Auntie, so I stayed hidden until Mandy yanked me out of hiding for dinner. Before she let me eat, she showed me off to the new company. Elway was right, it was Auntie! Mandy called the man I did not know Uncle Tom. He scratched my head, just where I like it, but I could not let him know it was my favorite place to be loved. He even told me I had big beautiful eyes, but as soon as dinner was over, I ran back into the bedroom. Mandy played the noise maker for them, so I crawled out of the bed and sat in the doorway to listen. It is nice to hear noise maker again.

Well, the windows are open, and I am going to enjoy the beauty of the morning.

Sleep Over Guests

I mentioned last week that something was up, and something big did happen! We have sleep over guests. On Saturday, Sam and Mandy left only to return with guests. At first Peyton and I hid and refused to come out. We heard those suitcases come in the house, and we hate suitcases. In fact, I hate suitcases more than I hate Vacuum. But after a while, Mandy coxed me out from under the bed and brought me out to see our visitors. It was Bomom and Bonedad! Of course I was unfriendly at first; I have a reputation to uphold. But do you know what? They ignored me! So eventually, I had to get in on all the action. Peyton came out at dinner time, and we play around the house.

Since Bomom and Bonedad have arrived, the windows have been open practically the whole time. They even sat outside in the dark, and Peyton and I were able to play outside in the dark! Normally, Sam and Mandy make us come in when it gets dark, so we were very excited to play outside during the forbidden time of day. We raced back and forth along the screen watching all the night time bugs.

Lasts night, they all played this silly card game. Sometimes they were very quiet, while other times they were loud and would hit their cards on the table. Overall, I think Bonedad was very upset with the game, while Sam sat grinning ear to ear.

This morning, Mandy kept us in the room for a long time and told us we couldn’t wake up Bomom. I got tired of waiting for Mandy to open the door so I ran out the open window instead. I sat outside of Bomom’s window. Peyton joined me and we stared at her. However, our “wake up” thoughts didn’t penetrate the glass, and we were unable to wake her up. We even tried running from our open window to her window to wake her up, but that didn’t work either. Once Mandy let us out of the bedroom, I raced into see Bomom but Mandy said I should let her sleep. So I left her alone. Guess what? I think I hear Bomom waking up now! I am going to go say good morning!

Penance

Peyton and I were scolded this morning by both Mandy and Sam. They were moving around the chairs under the big table, and noticed that we had scratched them up a tad on their last trip. It was a mean thing to do, but we were so mad at them for leaving us, that we figured we’d punish them by scratching the forbidden chairs. We were yelled at something awful and Mandy banished us from the dining room and our front window! In order to get on Mandy’s good side again, I tried to bring her a gift. However, in the middle of my plan Sam caught me with my gift. I guess it did look funny dangling from my mouth. It was a rather wiggly gift. He made me drop it and he took it back outside. Unfortunately, he took it out front and I was unable to offer Mandy my worm as penance for scratching the chairs. Then I got in trouble for digging in Mandy’s plants to get the gift. I just can’t win today.

Something’s up. I can tell because Mandy is bouncing all over this house like a bouncy ball. And she left us home alone with all the windows open! I don’t remember ever being left home alone with the windows open. She told us if we touched her fish or her plants while she was gone, she would close the windows and never let us out again. So, we did not touch the plants or her fish. We were good kitties. We are trying to get back in the dining room, but she keeps shooing us out. We will make up with Mandy and get back in there. As soon as Mandy came home, she turned on her music again. Peyton came running in and is now curled up near the music listening. Apparently, it is another musical story and he just loves those. Whatever, I like the music Mandy dances too. I help her and dance with her. Peyton always hides in the closet when Mandy turns on fun music. Sometimes Mandy dances around to the story music, and then we’re both happy. Maybe she will today.

Well, I’m not sure what’s going to happen, but when I figure it out, I’ll let you know. Mandy is bouncing again, so I’d better go see what she’s up too.
