I'm writing this blog from outside. I have to be very quite. I see the rabbit, and I have to scare him out of my yard. That fluffy cute creature is a villain. Don't let his button nose, long ears and fluffy white tail fool you. That creature is evil. He has taken over my backyard, and has cast a spell on Mandy. She tries to feed him! She offers that scoundrel carrots.
We have had multiple staring contests in the past weeks, and I have let that villainous little creature know whose boss. Today, I have won that battle and the bunny is gone for now.
Outside there are so many places to play and hide. I'm very good undercover. Peyton encourages me to work on my camouflage. I try to hide under the vines of the bushes, but Mandy always sees me. I have very quick reflexes though, and am able to scare most bugs and frogs away without a fight.
Well, Mandy is getting squirmy over a little spider. I need to go do my job and stop that spider.

Man Eating Play Room!
Ever since Sam let me play in the man eating room, I have wanted to go back. Yesterday I asked Mandy several times if I go, but she did not let me. I asked Sam if I could go in the man eating room, but he ignored me. I kept asking Sam, and he let me go in. Elway came too! We played and played under Mandy’s car and behind all the boxes. Mandy did everything to make us come in. She even offered to feed us more, but we did not want to come in. So we played and played in the man eating room and I loved it. I cannot wait to spend more time there. Mandy says we cannot play in there if we do not learn to come in when told. I have news for Mandy; we will come in the house when we want, not when we are told.
Yesterday, I helped Mandy with Washer. Normally, Elway is the helper, but I showed Mandy that I could help too. I made sure Washer was not going to eat her.

I have been enjoying having Mandy home. I like it much better when Mandy is home with us. The day is much for fun.

Mandy said she was very happy for my help. She said I was a good help! I wanted to know if I as good as Elway, but she would not say that I helped like Elway. Strange.

Rainy Day Turned Play Day!
Today has been wonderful! Mandy started getting ready for work when the most wonderful thing happened—Power went out! I was so happy that Power went out! Mandy let us play outside, and she played with us. She ate lunch. But then Power came back on. Mandy made some phone calls, and played with us some more! She did not go to work! We were so happy that Mandy stayed home with us today! And Mandy has played with us lots today. She says we all need a little play time. She did say she wanted to go out for coffee. She offered to let us go too, but we refused. And we kept her from going. When she started to leave, we got in her way. We won and she played with us, until we were sleepy. Then I think she slipped out unnoticed. But we were asleep, and so we do not really know. But she woke us up, and she had some coffee, so she must have gone.
Now, I do not normally like to be cuddled in the afternoon, but today when Mandy woke me up, she snuggled with me on the couch. She rubbed my paws, and my tummy, and behind my ears. It must be the dark weather outside, but it was really nice, and I snuggled for a long time. I would never admit it to anyone, but I really enjoyed my snuggle time today.
Elway is getting really good at his jumps. When Mandy sits on the floor with us, he can now jump on Mandy’s hand when she holds it up on the air. It is pretty cool. He has amazing jumping skills. I have been working on my jumping skills too. I do not like to brag but Mandy says I am getting pretty good.
Mandy told people she was not going to work tomorrow. I am so excited, because that means she will be home to play with me some more! I like to spend the day with Mandy. It makes days so much better.
That’s all for now!

Back to Work
Mandy left yesterday. She was careful not to say the “W” word, but I know that’s where she went. She got dressed and acted like she was going to work, even if she wouldn’t tell us that’s where she was going. We told Mandy she could not go, and she didn’t even acknowledge our demand. To show her our displeasure, we hid and did not say Good-bye to her. To disobey such a command, is a fate far worse than being ignored. When she came home we ignored her some more. But poor Mandy needed some loving, so I gave in and forgave her for ignoring our command. I was sweet to Mandy because she needed some cuddles.
So we have always hated having company over, but we recently had some company, and I actually had fun. All day while Mandy was cleaning she let us play outside. We had so much fun, and we spent most of the day by the big tub. Mandy even went in the big tub late in the day. We gave up nap time to protect Mandy from the bugs and frogs while she was in the big tub. Then when the company came over, I came out and saw them all on my own. They were fairly quiet, and I was curious what Mandy and Sam were doing with the new people. After dinner, the ladies sat outside by the big tub, and Mandy opened our window and I played outside. Mandy even woke Peyton up, and he came out too. The company didn’t bother us while we played. I had fun running along the screen and chasing bugs. One of the nice ladies offered to let me lick out her bowl. I thought about it long and hard, it looked yummy and smelled good, but I did not take her up on her offer. I do not know her. Maybe if she comes over again I will get to know her better, and then I will lick out her bowl. If all company is this friendly, I might get use to it.
I’m not sure what will happen today, but I’m hoping Mandy will let us play by the big tub again. I love to be outside by the big tub. It is lots of fun.

Mission On Hold
Week Two Cont.
Progress: Regressive
It happened again. Mandy and Elway were in my room and I was not. Elway brags and brags about being in my room and Mandy does not even care that I have not been in my room. In fact, I was outside the door, and she would not let me in. I tried to get into the room, but she just would not budge. At least she made Elway come out, and she left the room too. Mandy took Sam up to the room again last night, but I still did not get in. They were on their way down stairs before I realized that they were upstairs. But Elway knew and he went up with them, and played in my room again! That means Elway has been in my room three times, and I have not even peeked in the door. This is awful. I think I will table this mission, and work on it later. Maybe Mandy will forget that I want in the room, and I can sneak in when she least expects it.
But I have good news outside of my mission. This morning, Mandy is taking it slow. I think that means she will not leave us for work today. She will probably leave us for other reasons, and she will probably go back to work later this week. But today she is home with us! At least I hope she is home for the day, so she will play with us.
This morning after we ate breakfast, I was still so hungry. I asked Mandy if I could have some more food. I was really sweet. Elway asked too. She said when Sam left we could have come more food. So I waited very patiently for Sam to leave, and then I reminded Mandy that I was hungry still. Guess what?! She feed me some more! Not just any kind of food—she feed me chicken! I love chicken! It is starting off to be a great Monday morning!
Well, Elway and I are playing an awesome game of brain mashing! I have been hiding so I could rest, but now I am ready to pounce again! Watch out Elway, here I come!

Mission Incomplete
Week 2
Mission: Gain access to my room
Progress: None
I have spent a week trying to get back into my room, and I have not even been close to getting in. In fact, everyone has been in the room but me. Mandy and Sam talked in there the other day and Elway was with them. He bragged all about it. I was napping and totally missed out. Mandy says if I did not nap so much then I would have been able to play in my room.
So my goal to get back into my room is to be sweet to Mandy. I am fairly certain she will be back up in my room and when she does I will pounce on my room and never leave again! Elway said she wants to do some work up there, so I think she will go back up soon. I will soon be back in my room!
In non-mission related news, Mandy and Sam got a new game yesterday. Rather than playing with us, they played this game all day. I know Mandy wants to play today, but if Elway and I are nice this morning maybe she will play with us instead. They look goofy when they play this new game. Their arms are flailing all over and they yell and jump and cheer. Today, I hope they play with us more than that game.
Well, I better work on being sweet to Mandy.

Work Days
Mandy’s gone back to work. She hasn't worked in a long time. It makes me sad because she is not here to play with us all day. The good news is she is not gone all day. She is normally only gone during nap time. Today when she got home, I greeted her with lots of loves and hugs. I snuggled her and made her feel pretty special!
This morning, we went out to the Big Tub. It was lots of fun. Every day when Mandy lets us out, she reminds us of the rules. There are three of them.
1. No Frog Chomping
2. No Bug Munching
3. No Fishing…
…unless they are going to bother Mandy or try to get in the house. If any of the above are in the house, I have full rights to chomp, munch or pounce…
… ‘cause I say so.
I’ve been a big help to Mandy lately. This morning she was unloading Dishwasher and I helped by jumping on the counter and trying to slide the coffee mugs back in the cupboard. The problem with this situation: I’m not allowed on the countertops. So I got in trouble, even though I was just helping. But that’s ok. I stayed in the kitchen and loved Mandy to show her I was still a good kitty.
Right now is my favorite time to curl up on my coffee table and nap. Mandy leaves it in the sun for me. And right now the sun is perfectly hitting it for a great nap. And I can still be with Mandy because the table is close by.

Plea
Dear Mom with Cool Toys,
We love our toy. It's our favorite because it's springy. It flies through the air and allows us to flip, jump, snort and pounce. However, we have chewed all of the feathers off of it. Will you please look for another one? We love that toy, and will love a new one.
We can’t promise to be kind to you next time we see you, but we can promise to love the toy.
Please consider our request.
Earnestly pleading,
Elway and Peyton the Cats

Yummy Yummy Shrimp!
The shrimp was yummy! Mandy feed it to me; actually, I didn’t give her much choice. I tried to take it of her plate. I know Shrimp Dad would have let me just dive in and eat a whole shrimp! Mandy says I am spoiled and I need to be patient. I don't like to be patient, but she let me eat enough shrimp to get my fill.
I ate so much shrimp that all I could do was sleep, and then I curled up and watched TV.

We had a storm this weekend. It wasn’t a big one, but I enjoyed watching the rain come. When it rains the frogs get really noisy. We must have hundreds of frogs that live out back. I don’t like frogs. They taste yuckie. As long as they stay away from Mandy, the big tub, and the house, I will never eat another. But if those nasty little creatures come close, I will not have any other choice.
I don’t really know what to do to scare off Vacuum. I keep showing him how fierce I am, but he keeps coming out and sucking up the signs of my fierceness. I am even leaving chucks of my scratching board all over the house, and then when Vacuum comes out the chunks are gone! I might have to work harder at attacking the door--or I will work harder on scratching my chair. Maybe if I can ruin my chair I will show Vacuum that I can destroy big things. Maybe that will scare Vacuum. The only problem is that Mandy gets mad when I scratch my chair. She sprays this stuff on the chair that make scratching unpleasant. I beat Vacuum knows about that stuff, so I am scratching through it, even if that spray makes scratching gross. It will help Vacuum see how determined I am to stop him.I have already gotten in trouble three times this morning for scratching my chair. But I’ve got news for Mandy, I’m not stopping until Vacuum sees how fierce I really am.
Well, that is all for now.

Good Eatin!
I don't normally post twice in one day, but I have such good news! Mandy and Sam left, but when they came home, they brought shrimp!!! When we moved into New House, Shrimp Dad introduced me to the wonderful eatin' of shrimp! Mandy said she was cleaning them and preparing them to eat, so I couldn't have any yet. But she said if I am a good boy all day, I might get some tonight! I know Mandy won't share her shrimp like Shrimp Dad did. Mandy had been holding out on me. They have had shrimp before, but Shrimp Dad was the first to let me try it! If he were here, I know I'd get to eat as much shrimp as I want! But I think Mandy will let me have some if I am good. So I am off to be a good cat all day! YAY Shrimp!
Happy Eatin'!

Soggy Saturday
Saturdays are normally pretty cool, but I don’t like any day when it rains. The other day it rained and rained and the lightning was making the hair on my neck stand up. Mandy was nice to me though, and sat with me. I was a little nervous, and she stayed close and rubbed my tummy.
Soggy days also mean that I can’t play outside. Peyton has lost sight of his mission to discover more about the creature of the big tub, but I have not lost sight. Soggy days mean my mission is put on hold. But I do have information to report. I tried to get Peyton to come out and work with me, but he was hiding in the bedroom.
Last time Mandy was in the big tub, she pulled the creature out! She told me he was dead! I think the big tub killed him! While I was checking out the big tub, I saw a huge fish in the big tub. I think the fish killed the creature. I tried and tried to get Mandy out of the big tub, but she would not listen. I cried, I ran, I even pretended to play with bugs. Nothing worked to get Mandy out of the tub. She just laughed at me. I think even the trees were trying to worn Mandy about the danger of the big fish. The trees made this awful noise and it would come and go and come and go. The funny thing was, sometimes the tops of the tress would disappear. I don’t know where the trees went, but I think they tried to worn Mandy and then they would hide so they wouldn’t see the fish eat her. Thankfully, Mandy escaped before the fish could get her. He must be very patient because he never moved…not an inch. He didn’t even blink. I tried staring him down, and he always won. At least with the soggy weather today, Mandy probably won’t play in the big tub. I say probably because sometimes she goes out in the rain. Crazy girl! It’s like the big tub isn’t wet enough and she likes to play in the rain. Strange. At least I don’t have to go out with her.
I think the most important news though is breakfast. Mandy fed us turkey again. Turkey used to be my favorite meal, but I don’t like it any more. Neither does Peyton. We refuse to eat the turkey. Mandy says there are six more days of Turkey and then she will get us new food. I just wish the turkey would disappear. I’m tired of Turkey. She’s been feeding us beef with turkey mixed in, but I like beef now.
Well, I’m off to ask for beef. Maybe Mandy will take pity on my cute face. Sometimes when I ask nicely, Mandy will feed me more.

Day 2
Day Two
Goal: To get back into my room
Progress: Slight
I keep telling Mandy I want back in my room. I think I am making progress. I recently ran up to the room, and cried and cried as loud as I could while Mandy played on the noise maker. She can not play when I am crying, I mess her up. Meow meow! Anyway, she came up, and I was on the cat walk. I was up really high in the air!
I told Mandy I was a little scared by holding onto the cat walk really tight!

Then I told Mandy what I thought about being locked out of the room. She only laughed at me.

Elway is not amused with my mission. He says I need to stop with the shenanigans and play with him. He even got our toy so we could play. I ignored him to work on my mission.

Feeling Better!
We have new food. I love it. Mandy knew I was not feeling well, and she bought me some new food. I am so glad. I feel much better. To show my appreciation I have been snuggling Mandy and playing with her.
Last night Mandy woke up really early so I snuggled up next to her, and purred her back to sleep. It was a moment of sweetness, but she changed my food.
Yesterday was fun. Mandy played with us a lot. When even played outside! But that thing in the big tub went after Mandy! It chased her around and around the big tub. She did not care though. She just kept swimming. I do not like that thing in the big tub.
While we were outside I got in trouble for trying to play with the fish. I tell Mandy that I only want to be friends with those fish creatures, but Mandy thinks I am fishing. She will not listen to me.
I am also much happier now that my house is getting put back together. Mandy is working to get things cleaned up. I do not understand why she puts some things where she does. For example, I do not know why she put our bed downstairs. I like to sleep upstairs. This weekend, Sam left the door open to my room. It is my room, and I am often closed out of it. But Sam was nice enough to open it for me. He got in trouble for it. He must have anyway, because Mandy is the only one who closes that door. She must have made Sam run me out and close the door. I was sad. But I will find other ways into the room; after all it is my room.
Well, that is all for now. Since I am feeling better, Elway and I are playing brain mashing.

Busy Monday Morning
I love Mondays. They are either two things around here: crazy busy or super slow. Either way it’s good for me. This morning was super busy. Mandy got up fairly early, and as soon as Sam left, she drank her coffee and jumped in the pool. She even let me go back outside! I had to promise not to eat any frogs. I tried to play with some bugs but Mandy reminded me that they were not going to bother her, so I didn’t need to get them. Then I discovered the most amazing thing! FISH! Mandy has this little tub of water full of moving fish! Peyton has found these fish, and told me about them, but I have never seen them before. This morning they were swimming all over the place. Mandy kept telling me I could not play with the fish. Duh Mandy! After that frog it will be a long time before I bite into anything moving. But these fish swam and swam all over the tub. The big one jumped out of the water and scared me. I jumped down and ran away. Then I had to watch again to see if they would jump some more. They did! It was pretty cool. But I got a little wet so I will watch from a distance. Mandy says if I go fishing that I will be in deep trouble. I don’t think I want to know what kind of deep trouble. She sounded pretty serious.
Then Mandy came in and got all ready only to pull out Vacuum. I hate Vacuum. I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again. I hate Vacuum. At Old Home, Mandy only vacuumed a few times a month. Now she pulls Vacuum out a few times a week. I think it must be the soft stuff on the floor. So I’ll say it one more time…I hate Vacuum. Today Vacuum came under the bed. I mean clear under the bed. I think he was trying to eat me. I mean he sucks up all my fur, my food, my toys if I don’t pick them up, and now he’s coming after me! Sometime I’d like to show Vacuum what I think of him. I constantly scratch my Scratcher and leave parts of it all over the house so that Vacuum will see how fierce I am. I know where Vacuum lives. Sometimes I go to his closet and attack from under the door. I think Vacuum might be a little nervous because of my sharp claws. But he still comes out. Someday I will get the best of Vacuum.
This weekend was pretty relaxing--except Mandy had to put that icky bug stuff on us. I hate it. I have learned not to lick it though, but Peyton has not. Every time Mandy or Sam puts that stuff on us, Peyton has to go and lick it. It always makes him sick. This time he was foaming pretty good, and Mandy had to clean him up. He wasn’t laughing about the frog anymore. Now we are even. Poor guy, it took him a few days to feel better. But this morning we got in a good round of brain mashing before Mandy told us to be gentle. She always says she doesn’t want to clean up our brains, but we’re just cats. We play Mandy. Get over it.
Well, I guess I’ve gone on long enough for now. Besides I hear a bell calling my name. That means it’s PLAY TIME! MEOW!!!

Obedience!
Finally, Mandy Obeyed! My house is put back together. There are still boxes out, but not near as many as there used to be, and almost everything is in its place! Mandy is finally obeying and putting everything into place for me. She worked hard all day long, and she used Vacuum. I don’t like Vacuum, but if the noise means everything is clean, than that is tolerable.
Mandy kept waking me up during nap time and bringing me out to see the clean house. I told her I was proud of her and loved her each time she brought me out. Obedience deserves kind treatment.
Things are different this morning. Sam is still sleeping. I think he needs to sleep like a cat. He has been so tired lately. I am trying to let him sleep, but it is hard to play quite. Mandy always lets us run around the house and yell in the mornings, but this morning we are trying to stay quite for Sam.
However I climbed up onto my shelf in the stairway. I cried and cried until Mandy came and saw me. I posed for a picture.

You see, Mandy put me up there once and it has taken me several days to get back up there. Elway has managed to get up there before, but I finally got up there today! MEOW!!
Well, I am off to play for a while.

Feeling Better
Hi All! I'm doing ok. Thanks for your concern. I told Mandy I wanted to blog yesterday, but she wouldn't turn the computer on for me. I have learned my lesson for a while. I won't bite frogs unless they are after Mandy. Then I might have to bite them again. Although they are gross, I can't let them get to my Mandy. I wanted to tell you all I had learned my lesson, but Mandy was doing all sorts of stuff. She got all dressed up, and left for a good portion of the day. When she came home, she changed into her nasty work clothes. She started putting more goopy stuff on the walls. I don't know why she keeps doing this. But I told her it was silly to put that smelly stuff all over, but she didn't really listen.

I'm a big help, huh? I bet you wish you had a kitty that was such a big help. Painting that goopy stuff on the walls is hard work! It took a lot out of me, so before Mandy could finish painting I left to take a nap. Don't worry, I stayed close so I could make sure she didn't go crazy with the goopy stuff, but that smell really knocks everything out of you!

So, since Mandy wouldn't listen, I helped her put that goopy stuff up. I am a good helper. I don't know how she can do anything without my help. I help that girl do everything. Anyway, I pointed out to Mandy where she dropped the goopy stuff on the blankets. The blanket in this picture is my favorite. I sleep on it during the day. This blanket isn't so rough.

Then just when I thought the night was over and Mandy and Sam were going to bed, they lock us in the bathroom and give us a bath. Mandy said she was not excited about it, and that she hated it worse than us. Yeah right. But she did promise us lots of treats if we were good. I did really well, I only fought a little, but Mandy kept reminding me about treats, and telling me how handsome I was. When she put the shampoo on, she rubbed all over, and it felt good. I even purred for her. Sam was standing right there with the treats, so I was a really good kitty--but Peyton on the other hand. HAHA! He fought and fought and fought. It took both Mandy and Sam to get him clean, and it sounded like they were killing him. Nothing calmed him down. Poor guy. HAHA. Anyway, now we are both clean and we smell good. Our fur is so soft now!
Aren't we cute! Oh, and Sam and Mandy came through with the treats! We got lots of treats! Bath time wasn't so bad, but I hope we don't have it again for a while. I'm pretty sure Mandy agrees.
Well anyway, after my big day yesterday I am looking forward to relaxing and sleeping all day! I'm waiting for the sun to shine in on my favoriate napping place!

Success!
I have finally found a way to keep Mandy up ALL NIGHT! It is simply amazing! Last night they came in from a rather eventful evening, which I will tell you all about, but while Sam and Mandy were getting ready for bed, I showed them that I could open the cabinets in the bathroom. Sam and Mandy were not happy about this, and Mandy put her hair bands around the doors to keep me from opening them. But I showed Mandy the goal was not to open the cupboards, but rather to keep her awake. So all night long, I tried opening the cupboards but they would slam closed making a delightfully loud noise. I was able to keep Sam and Mandy awake almost all night! It was a success! Now Mandy knows how I feel when she keeps me awake all day long! I cannot wait to try it again, maybe I can keep Sam and Mandy awake again tonight!
Well to get to the story about last night it really is pretty funny. But it’s only for adult readers. The young at heart might not be able to stomach the graphic details. Anyway, Sam and Mandy got all ready for a swim last night, and took Elway and me out with them. Elway, the Not-So-Mighty-Hunter, starts going after bugs. We were able to get several bugs away from Mandy. Elway then finds this new creature that hops and croaks. Mandy used to show them to us at the old house. She called them frogs. But I have never seen one up close until last night. Elway was able to get the frog and really bite into him. But Hooligan Cat, starts foaming at the mouth! He was a mess, slobbering and spewing all over the place. Mean while the frog is hopping all over the place letting his blood and guts run everywhere. Sam chases both the frog and Elway down. Mandy goes into the house and gets a big bowl of water. When she comes back out, she puts Elway’s whole face in the water and starts washing his mouth out. He hollowed and hissed. Mandy had to do this a couple of times to get the Not-So-Mighty-Hunter to stop foaming. Then when Mandy finally got him all cleaned up, that silly cat starts loving her and purring. I would have run away after such treatment! Well, at this point in time, Mandy and Sam were a mess, covered in cat spew, frog guts and bugs. It was rather humorous to me. However they did not find it funny at all.
Well, that is all. I am back to the closet so I could get some sleep. I do not think Mandy will wake me up today.

Sunday, August 2, 2009
It's a Sunday kinda love.
Sundays are so different in the new house. It used to be that Sam and Mandy would get all dressed up and leave for the day. Now they get all dressed up and leave for a few hours, come home, change clothes, nap, wake-up, dress up again, leave, come home, eat and then go to bed. Seems like an awful lot of work. I don't know what they are doing, but they seem to like Sundays.
I would like Sundays better if Mandy would clean up my house. Since the move, she has been so messy. She makes such big messes. A few naps ago, she put this blue sticky stuff all over the place. Then yesterday, she gets out this goopy stuff and brushes it on the wall. Now Elway, being the helper, jumps up on the step ladder and helps Mandy out. Me? Well, I stay hidden in the closet. That stuff stinks!, and it made the whole house smell. Today, Mandy comes home and rips the sticky stuff off the walls. Why did she spend all that time putting that stuff up, only to rip it off, and then throw it away! They must still have work to do, because there is still sticky stuff and rough blankets out. The bathroom is a mess with blankets on the sink and floor. Crazy!
Then today, Mandy rudely wakes me up and drags me out of the closet to meet people. She tells me I have to be nice to these kids. Put on a good show. HA! You got the wrong cat Mandy. So when I saw those people I let everyone know I was unhappy. I did not scratch Mandy, or use my claws, I get in trouble for that. But I ran away as fast as I could. Mandy says I could have at least pretended to be nice. Whatever. Next time you nap, I will wake you up and see how nice you are.
Sam has been doing all this stuff. Yesterday, he found this spot on the ceiling and totally freaked out! He grabbed the big flash light and then climbs on top of the house. He made a bunch of noise and scared me. I do not know what the big deal is, but Sam is pretty unhappy about that spot. Mandy is not too pleased either. All well.
Oh, and I still have not figured out that thing in the bug tub. Mandy and Sam ate breakfast out there, and I had a lot of time to check it out. Still have no idea what it is, but Sam and Mandy are not bothered by it. I will figure it out. I do not want it to bother us.
Well Elway is napping and it is a good time for me to play with the toy from Mom with Cool Toys. I love that toy.
