Year End

The Year is coming to an end, and evidently that is a big to-do for some people. For us though, it is very quiet. We are ringing in the New Year snuggled in as a family.

I am beyond thankful for a quiet evening, as yesterday was awfully disruptive. Mandy allowed strange people into our bedroom and they took away the big bed! What a catastrophe! Elway and I left the bedroom and moved outside, hoping that when we came back in the house everything would be back to normal. However, the door bell rang again causing instant ciaos! We had nowhere to hide! So we ran for the closet. Mandy allowed more strange people in the house and these people brought in a new big bed.

Eventually Mandy pulled me out of my hiding spot to see the new big bed, and I let Mandy know I did not like being pulled out of hiding. I ran away from Mandy as soon as possible, but it made her so sad that I gave in and snuggled her on the couch. However, Elway stayed in hiding until it dinner time. He was so upset that his big bed was taken away and replaced by a new one that he refused to sleep with Sam and Mandy last night. Elway caved and napped on the new bed this afternoon. I think he likes it now.

Well, since the evening is so peaceful, I am going to sign off and enjoy Christmas Tree one more night. Mandy says he’s coming down tomorrow.

Spectacular Christmas

Christmas is defiantly my favorite time of year. I love it! We had the most amazing weekend! I could not wait to see what Santa brought me Christmas morning! I was waiting by the bedroom door for Mandy to let me out so I could see!

Santa brought us treats and toys! He brought us this mouse that runs around on the floor. Peyton doesn’t really play with the mouse. So I’ve had to learn to disarm him all by myself. I’ve discovered if I knock him over on his back, he cannot run anymore.

I had a lot of fun opening all of the packages under the tree.

Peyton even joined in and watched us open the packages.

We received so many fun toys! I had so much fun playing!

Even Peyton had to set aside his stuffy attitude and join in the fun!

Red Lightening Bug is back!! Praying worked! He is bright and fun. He even changes shapes sometimes!

Mandy cooked a big dinner, and they ate in the fancy eating room. I tried to help Sam eat, but I got in trouble for climbing on the furniture.

When the day was all over, we were exhausted. I curled up under Christmas Tree. It is my favorite place to nap.

Peyton curled up in the box to rest.

Christmas was such a fun day. Thank you for sending us such fun gifts, and thank you Santa!
I’m off to play some more.

Christmas Eve

It’s Christmas Eve! Mandy says Santa will come tonight! I hope he brings me lots of treats and toys.

Auntie sent me an e-mail and told me I am a good cat. She said I would definitely get lots of treats for Christmas. I sure hope she’s right! She also said I should pray that Red Lightening Bug gets better soon. So I am.

Mandy has been cooking all day, and our house smells so good. I bet we will have one tasty meal when we finally get to eat! Sam has been working in the bedroom trying to put something on the wall. But it quit in the middle of his job, and I don't think he is going to finish today. I tried to help, but he didn't let me do much.

We’re watching a fun movie about a cat that wears boots! It is the most amazing movie! That cat is so awesome! Maybe if I had a pair of boots, I could be as cool as Puss!

Santa, is it too late to wish for boots?

Christmas Wish

Dear Santa,

I have tried to be a good kitty this year; however, it is sometimes very tempting to bite my brother, eat plastic bags, and dig in the trash. But if I am on the nice list, I have a special request. You see, Red Lightening Bug is sick. Mandy said I should clap or believe, and he might get better. Unfortunately, I can’t clap and I don’t know what to believe. So, if you could heal Red Lightening Bug, I would really appreciate it.

Also, I would love some more treats. Mandy has been rather stingy with my treats lately, and I would really like some more.

Thank you.

Christmas Boxes Galore!

Boxes are spread over my house for me to play in! We received a box from all the people who come visit us! Each box is a different size and shape and Peyton and I have had hours of fun hiding, jumping and playing in the boxes.

Mandy says I can’t keep them all. I can only pick one for keeps, and the rest will go to the big box playground in the man-eating room. I am sad I am unable to keep them all, but I am going to enjoy every minute I have with all the boxes.

Last night something every strange happened. Mandy’s alarm went off in the middle of the night, which normally means Mandy and Sam will leave us in the dead of night. However, they rolled out of bed, threw coats on over the pajamas, and went out back. The moved the chairs and sat down! In the dead of night! Evidently they were looking at the moon. It was very strange, because there was something funny about the moon. It was big and bright when we went to bed, but when they were looking at the moon it was small and very dark. It even turned a funny brown color. They watched the moon for a long time, and talked about the stars. What crazy people! Eventually, they came back to bed, but Mandy couldn’t sleep. She got back up to look at the moon some more. Sam couldn’t be left out, so he had to go find her. Then Sam looked at the moon some more too. What crazy people. I’m just glad they didn’t wake the neighbors howling at the moon. I wouldn’t put it past them.

Well, I’m going to go enjoy my boxes while I can.

Big Burning Flames!

There are massive flames burning in the evil bug cage! Sometimes mean hornets get stuck in this glass cage with logs. I was under the impression that the glass cage was only used for the imprisonment of evil flying bugs with stingers, however, today the cage is open and large flames are flickering between the logs! It’s beautiful and warm! After careful examination and much thought, I have decided that the open glass cage with the flames is beautifully and functionally warm. It has my approval.

This morning Mandy and I have been playing on the computer. Here is a look at the fun we had:

What fun we had this morning. I am going to go enjoy the warm flames for a while.

Yearly Check-Up

Mandy packed us up and took us to Cat Doctor for our yearly check-up. We don’t really like to go to Cat Doctor and Peyton was a bit of a handful for Mandy. I didn’t really want to go, but when she put me in my carrying case, I went because I know she doesn’t like to make us do things we don’t want too. Peyton on the other hand, was a little problematic. He refused to go into his case, and gave Mandy a paw print with his claws that stretches across her tummy. I saw it, and it looks like it hurts. Anyway, Mandy had to build the case around him and he fussed and fought the whole time. She was very gentle. I tried to tell Peyton to calm down, but he ignored me.

When we arrived at Cat Doctor, Peyton was first on the dreaded scale. It was cruel to him, and the Cat Doctor said he could handle losing some weight. Then when Mandy tried to take me out of my case, that moose of my brother crawled in with me. He wouldn’t crawl in his case when Mandy wanted him too, but he can squish me when he wants to go home.

Anyway, I was nervous to get on the scale after Peyton’s experience, so I fought a little, but once they recorded my weight, they said I was handsome and healthy! And they loved my bubble gum nose! However, Cat Doctor took this awful tool to my teeth trying to pull off the plaque that was built up. It was very strange.

When we arrived home, I was thankful to be back! Mandy put us in the bedroom, and we napped on the warm bed all afternoon.

Mandy did not stay at work very long, and when she came home she wrapped Christmas presents. I always help her by chewing on the ribbon. So, if your package has some teeth marks in the ribbon, you will know it was tied with the love of an Elway!

This morning Sam and Mandy played with these long brown tubes that the paper is normally attached to. They danced across the living room like they were the Dread Pirate Roberts. However, if he was really here, they wouldn’t stand much of a chance. Those crazy kids dancing across the house!

It is so cold here. Mandy said we are breaking records that have been set for fifty years! It is freezing! Literally! The long white ice drops are hanging off our mail box. Mandy and Sam have this wonderful blanket they pulled out last night that is warm all by its self. I have snuggled Mandy in order to warm my paws on this wonderful blanket. It is simply amazing.

Well, Mandy needs to get ready for work, so I am going to hurry her along.

Floating Wonder

It was a special day for Mandy yesterday. People gave her things, and she talked on the phone more than normal. Elway and I made sure we gave her extra snuggles and I even gave her extra kisses. But do not let that fool you into thinking I have gone soft—I received extra crunchies for such kindness. I know how to work the system.

Anyway, Mandy received this floating wonder yesterday. It is large and almost roundish, with a string tied to it. This purples cloud floats through our house like it owns the ceiling. It even dared to interrupt breakfast this morning by storming toward us while we were eating.

Mandy pulled the floating wonder closer to the ground so Elway and I could examine it. Elway was brave enough to bite at the string that Mandy held onto, while I chose to keep my distance. Elway bit the string, and when he tried to run off with the string in his mouth, the floating wonder started attacking him! It was like the attack of the killer floating wonder!

Elway quickly let go of the string, but he did not run away, as I assumed he would. No! He chose to try and attack the string! The floating wonder always reacted to Elway’s attack. Sometimes the floating wonder would retreat and other times it would hit Elway. Eventually, all of Elway’s hair was sticking straight up with static! Mandy has release the floating wonder in the kitchen, and it has returned to the ceiling out of reach. Perhaps we can seek round two later today. Elway has calmed himself down and bathed his hair back into place.

Mandy is considering leaving us with free reign of the house again today and Elway is chewing on C.T.’s branches. I better go chase him off before Mandy sees him, and decides to lock us in the bedroom again.

Holiday Happenings!

Saturday morning we woke up to what I assumed would be a lazy day. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Mandy and Sam woke up and totally changed around our house! I was so upset I hid in the bedroom and hoped it would all be a dream when I came out later. Again, I was wrong. Mandy came into the bedroom after she and Sam had made horrible sounds banging things around and opened the window. It was beautiful outside, and I couldn’t resist an escape to the outdoors, so I slithered past Mandy and dashed outside. It was gloriously beautiful! But that’s when I saw it.

Christmas Tree!

He came back! All the noise was to bring Christmas Tree back to life! I came sprinting in the window offering Sam and Mandy my help. First, I made sure C.T. was sturdy and that he had been treated adequately in his absence.
Then I helped Mandy dig through colored paper to dig out all of C.T.’s ornaments.
Now C.T. is all set up and he is beautiful! Peyton and I have spent hours napping under or around C.T. He is so lovely at night, lighting up the area with such a festive glow.

However, since C.T. is back, Peyton and I are not allowed free reign of the house while Mandy is at work. We are forced to stay in the bedroom, and it is very sad. Mandy says since she caught me climbing C.T. last night, I will be forced into captivity again today. It’s awful. C.T.’s branches call to me to climb them, and I was only answering the call. However, Mandy will not listen to my side of the story. She says, I am never allowed to climb C.T. no matter what. So, I guess I will have to work on that since she says Santa Claus is watching. I have to work extra hard on being a good kitty.

Well, I’m off to admire C.T. some more!

The Return of Work

Mandy warned us that this would happen, but we just were not prepared for the change to happen so quickly and without any warning. You see, Mandy has gone back to work. The good news is, she does not work long hours, and so far they are different every day. The bad news is, when she is home, she is so busy playing the noise maker that we haven’t really had enough time to play with her.

I bring out my toys and she will tease us with them for a few minutes, but as soon as we take a break to catch our breath, she is playing the noise maker again. I have spent many hours on my shelf in the stairway singing. I do like to sing while she plays, and we can perform beautiful duets.

It is beautiful and sunny outside. I am going to ask Mandy if we can play outside for a while.
