Then there are all of the changes to our life which Mandy calls Tax Season. I remember tax season, and I don’t like it. Tax Season means long lonely days for us kitties. For one thing, Sam and Mandy are waking up in the middle of the night! It is still cold and dark when they get up. And when they get up do you think the first thing they do is feed me? NO! They jump up and down in front of the TV. This morning Red Lightening Bug joined in their jumping and Peyton and I had a great workout before we even ate breakfast! Second, they are going to bed super early! I mean really really early! Like before the news comes on early! Peyton and I are so upset with the changes to our schedule we haven’t eaten our crunchies--which isn’t so terrible because Mandy is extra generous with the treats when we don’t eat our crunchies.
Tax season also means that Mandy works. Yesterday when she was getting ready to leave I went flying into the kitchen and slammed myself into the door she was going to open. I collapsed into a pile, hoping she would think I was hurt and stay home with me. She reached down to pet me, and talked with me for a little while. After she set all of her stuff down, I figured she had come to her senses and decided to stay with me, so I did a little dance. Well, Mandy guessed that I wasn’t hurt and laughed at me. She played with me a few more minutes, but then she picked up her stuff and left! I sat in the front window and made terribly sad faces at her as she drove away. I’ll admit, I was trying to be pathetic in order to make her feel horrible enough to come home, but she’s a cold-hearted one and it didn’t work.
Sam came home and worked at our new desk—the one Mandy doesn’t let me nap on. Evidently the desk is there for Sam and he has taken it over with new contraptions. I am excited to see how Sam will use the desk, and when we are alone, I will check out all of the man toys he brings home! Maybe he will be home more this Tax Season because of the desk. That might be cool.
Anyway while Sam was working I snuggled up to Mandy to let her know how much I loved her. She laughed at me and said I was adorable. I love to hear that.
