The last few afternoons have been beautiful, and Mandy has opened the door for us. Peyton normally rushes outside like a crazy cat, but the last two afternoons have been different. Yesterday Peyton didn’t go outside at all. Apparently the big tub lady came and scared Peyton into the closet, so after she left Peyton didn’t come back out. So, I enjoyed some alone time outside.
When Mandy let us out the day before we met a new friend—Black Cat. I thought Black Cat only lived inside, and did exactly as I did. However, this Black Cat moved of his own free will and had a mind of his own! He was small and scrappy. I growled at him, and of course Peyton, friend to all creatures, tried to make friends with this new and strange cat. Mandy saw our encounter and can rushing outside. She scared Black Cat off. He may be scrappy but he was also shy around humans. I came quickly to Mandy and let her pick me up. I wanted to show that scrappy cat that she was my human and I was not likely to share. I allowed Mandy to carry me inside and I purred the whole way into the house. Mandy went back outside to bring Peyton in, but he sat at the screen and called to Black Cat. That brother of mine is entirely too trusting and I keep telling him to be leering of new cats. He never listens to me though.
This morning it is rainy and neither Peyton nor I are eager to go outside so we are playing inside. Mandy says we are being too loud so we voted for a quick break so I could snuggle Mandy for a bit. However, as soon as Mandy moves to refill her smelly morning drink I will pounce on that brother of mine!
