Check it out!!!

We got a new toy! Look at how beautiful it is!

It is a wonderful toy! It is tall! I can scratch it! Mandy and Sam said it is the one thing I am allowed to stand up and scratch! I love it! Peyton plays with it too!

Well, I’m off to play. I just wanted you all to see my new toy!

Elway the Super Cat!

The car rides are so exciting! I love to go with Mandy! It doesn’t matter where she is going; I just love to go too!

After we had gone with her to pick up Sam, I thought that should mean I would be able to go anywhere. Mandy started to get ready to go and I knew I should be able to go. So I followed Mandy around and let her know I wanted to go. She took me to the bedroom, and told me I couldn’t go. She said it was too hot! So I gave up. But then I heard her car keys! I couldn’t give up! So I bolt out of the bedroom screaming! I want to make sure Mandy can hear me coming. I run under the piano and take a flying leap onto my chair. I hit the chair with such force that all I can do is push off of it. I knock it over, but that’s ok. Here’s the fun part! I go flying through the air, still screaming! I was able to fly from the chair clear into the kitchen, right into Mandy’s arms! I was like Elway the Super Cat! She laughed pretty hard. I think I knocked the air out of her. It was fun! But it didn’t matter, she still wouldn’t let me go. She said something about going in buildings, and it was just too hot for me in the car. I guess I understand. But I really wanted to go. But I did get to go later when it was time to pick Sam up!

Well, that’s all. I’m off to play! I haven’t seen the bunny in a while. I might look for the creature.

Eventful Day!

We just got back from a car ride. It is the second one in less than a day! This morning, we talked through the whole car ride. The first car ride was a bit unnerving, because Mandy did not tell us where we were going. But last night we picked up Sam from work, and this morning we dropped him off. I am not sure where his car is, but Mandy does not seem bothered that it is not here, so it must be ok. We have not been on a car ride since the move, and it was fun and scary all at the same time. All I have to say, it is good to be home. We left a lot of cat hair in Mandy’s car. I think she will probably take Vacuum out there, because there is far more hair in there than there ever is in the house.

Yesterday was a very busy day. Mandy woke up early and started doing stuff around the house and working in the kitchen. Then she went into the Man-Eating-Room and I slipped out! She tried to get me to come back in, but I would not. I was able to keep her distracted so that Elway could come out with me! We had so much fun in the Man-Eating-Room, but Mandy was not happy with me for sneaking out. She did everything she could do to make us come in, but we did not. All well. I do not care. It was so much fun!

Then Mandy took Vacuum out and scared us into the closet. Once she convinced us to come out, strange people came over. We hid! Mandy grabbed me and made me come meet these people. I remember them. They are the people that helped turn our life upside down and move us from our home. Mandy says they are nice people, and Sam came home to be with them. They were nice and scratched my head. But I still did not want to stay out with them. I do not understand why they came. Mandy tried to get Elway to come out and meet them, but he refused. He hid in the bed and would not come out. Both Mandy and Sam tried to coax him out, but he would not budge. He was practically yelling at them to go away. Eventually they gave up.

When everyone left, Mandy did everything she normally does to let us know that the people are gone. She sang, she played the noise maker, she called us, she got our toy and she tried to feed us. Nothing worked. We were so angry it took us three hours to come out again. HA! Meow! Then when we came out, she tossed the harness on us, and put us in the car for a car ride.

All I can say about it all, I hope today is more normal than yesterday.

Weak Spot

Mandy knows my weak spot. She knows how to make me stop and purr. So here I am, in the middle of a sneak attack on taking Peyton down, and I brush up against Mandy’s leg. She thinks I want some love, so she reaches down and rubs my belly. I go weak in the knees, and my surprise attack is forgotten. I purr and purr and love and suddenly I remember what I was doing. I jump up and pounce on Peyton. HAHA! I got him! It was pretty cool. Mandy is the only person who knows how to rub my tummy. I don’t let anyone else touch it. But Mandy knows what we like. This morning, she even let us in the laundry room to play. We wanted to go on the Man-Eating-Room, but we hide in the boxes, and so Mandy doesn’t let us out there now. But that’s ok; I’d rather play with my toy inside anyway. Well, I’m off to plan an attack on the evil rabbit.

All Day with Mandy

Mandy stayed with us all day! It was wonderful! She played with us all day! We went outside and played around the big tub. Then we played with the springy toy. We were so tired after we played that we slept most of the afternoon. I was so tired, that I didn’t notice that Mandy brought Vacuum out until it was too late to hide. But I was so sleepy I did not think he would bother me. He didn’t.

Mandy played on her noise maker too. Peyton has decided he likes that thing. He sits on the bench with Mandy and helps her play. He nudges her and loves her when she does a good job playing. Sometimes he yells when she is learning a new piece. Peyton tells her that when she makes lots of mistakes, the noise is not so nice to listen too. Last night, Sam came home and then he played with us some more. It was a wonderful day! I love when the whole day is centered on me. I get the feeling that Mandy is restless, but I don’t know why. What more could people want than to play with and care for cats?! Well, I’m going to take a nap. I’m still a little sleepy after my big play day yesterday.

Back to Normal

This morning has been wonderfully normal. Sam and Mandy got up and fell back into their normal routine. I love normalcy. We were served breakfast at our regular time, and then Mandy drank her coffee. She even played with us. I love to play! Elway says I have been a toy hog lately. I guess I have been, but Elway has been eager to watch. He gives me pointers on my jumps and maneuvers. He is still a better jumper than me, and I am glad for the criticism. I am getting better at jumping. Last night, I had a long graceful jump through the air. I thought I was flying, until I landed on the water glasses. Oops. Sam jumped through the roof, and Mandy jumped up quick to catch the glasses. Thankfully they were empty and I didn’t break the glasses. Mandy moved back, and I got to keep playing. It was fun!

This morning, I sat with Mandy while she drank her coffee. We watched TV together. She left my toy next to her, and I was able to play with it when I wanted. So far, it is a very nice morning.

I have played with the toy so much this morning that now I am sleepy. I am going to go curl up next to the fireplace. It’s my favorite place to sleep.

Crazy Lazys!

Mandy and Sam are acting all crazy. They have been so lazy for the past few days. I wouldn’t normally say that, but they have been acting really strange. First of all, Sam hasn’t left. Second, they sleep late. They never sleep late, but our breakfast has been late for the past three days. Then randomly this morning, they get up in the middle of the night! Our breakfast was so early we didn’t even think to ask for it! The good news is they play with us a lot. Peyton got another foot bath. It was pretty funny. This time though, he spread litter all over the bedroom, and that made Mandy bring Vacuum out again. Sam cleaned the bathroom trying to get rid of all the litter. Peyton even threw that stuff on the walls. I have no idea what possessed that cat to make such a mess. I would have found a way to make a statement without making Mandy bring Vacuum out. Ouch! Stop that Peyton! Don’t push me!

Meow! Wait one second! You made a huge mess and scared Mandy and Sam half to death. What were you doing anyway? Trying to drink out of Mandy’s water glass? You knocked the whole night stand over, and broke the coaster. This time, Sam had to bring Vacuum out. I did not think Sam used Vacuum, but you made him bring it out! At least I waited until they were awake to make a statement about my late breakfasts. You had to go and wake them up!

One good thing with their crazy behavior, they left the window open all day yesterday! We got to play inside and outside until bedtime! It was awesome! We thanked Mandy and Sam by bringing them a tiny little lizard. We put it outside their bedroom door. Mandy found our gift, and called Sam to see it. They must have been very pleased with our gift. They looked at it for a long time. We wanted to bring a big gift, but the tiny lizard was the biggest gift we could find. But because he was so tiny, we did not get to play with him long. He eventually took a nap, and we could not wake him up. Dumb lizard-- sleeping rather than playing. Elway has been helping me to keep clean. I do not like that Mandy says I am not a clean cat. She always tells Elway he is so clean. So he is helping me get the hard to reach places. Well, Mandy is playing with the toy again, so I am out of here to play some more!

Jail Break!

I have been waiting for this chance! I have not hinted at my mission, or even breathed a word to Peyton. If I was going to accomplish my goal, I had to do it completely undercover. But now, I completed the mission!

Mandy and Sam got back from being out. They were fumbling at the door. I could tell they had their hands full, so I slithered to the front door to wait for them. As soon as Sam opened the door I greeted them with my cutest face. I was calculating my chances of success—it looked good so rather than snuggling around their legs like normal, I darted out the open door! FREEDOM! MEOW!!!

Mandy threw everything in her arms at Sam and came running after me. HAHA. She looked pretty funny darting after a cat. Sam came back with a flashlight and treats. I was smart enough to hide in the bushes. Mandy and I have walked back and forth from the mail box enough, that I knew exactly where to hide. Mandy couldn’t reach me because I was so far back in the bushes. There were bugs and frogs and lizards! I could have played all night and not caught all of those critters. The bugs were so big! I’ve never seen bugs that big. But soon I was distracted, Mandy opened the bad of treats, and I slipped. I’m weak. I stepped closer to the treats which was a mistake. Sam grabbed me and I didn’t even get a treat. Mandy took me from Sam and closed me in the bathroom. She said I was wet and I couldn’t get my dirty paws on her carpet. She said she’d bring vacuum out again if I got the carpet dirty.

Even if I was closed in the bathroom until I dried off, it was worth it. For all of three minutes I was free! It was wonderful!

Total Embarrassment

It is just ridiculous how Mandy and Sam can man-handle us, and then they get mad when we fight back. For example, Mandy was making more noise on the ridiculous noise maker. I wanted to play, so I told her. She started to play with me until she noticed my back paw. She picked me up and turned me over on my back and started looking at my paw. Look girl-- that is my paw. Back away. Then she takes me into Sam and shows him my paw. They are all talking about how dirty I am--like I am a slob! MEOW! I bath myself. Sure, I am not as clean as Elway, but who cares? Not me. So then they take me into the kitchen and try to wash off my paw. At first, I was calm, but Sam could not get the stuff off my paw. So Mandy holds me down and they stick my paw in the sink! MEOW! They did not even bother to let the water warm up! I was so angry. I instantly saw red. Who dares to try and mess with me! I fought hard, but to no avail. Mandy was bent on getting my paw clean. Once again my paw is under the running water. Sam finally got the stuff off with a wash cloth. What a mess! I would have cleaned up my paw! I do not know why Mandy was so disgusted. I mean, it is not like I stepped in mud—it was just wet litter. She was all like, GROSS…well MEE—OOW! Well, Mandy knows I am angry, but she loves on me anyway. Telling me things like, ‘you are such a pretty kitty’ or ‘if you were as clean as Elway.’ Blah. Whatever. Meow. Well, that is my story.

A Swimmingly Purrrfect Morning

What a wonderful day. Meow! The Sun is shining again! And Mandy let us play outside! We got up and got Sam out the door for work, and then Mandy relaxed with us for a while. She got restless sooner than normal this morning, and went for her swim. Sometimes she sure is a funny creature. Mandy let us out to play while she was in the big tub. Pretty soon, it started to rain. Not just a little bit, a lot a bit! And do you know what, that crazy girl stayed in the big tub and seemed to enjoy the rain falling on her face. Not me! Peyton and I hid under the patio and watched her dreadful behavior. How could she enjoy that rain?! She played and splashed like a child. Strange. Thankfully, the rain didn’t last long, and Peyton and I could enjoy the rest of the time outside. Mandy seemed to be enjoying the big tub, and we got to stay outside longer than normal. She says she might trust us again, since we haven’t looked at the fish since the fishing incident. I hope she will! I love to play outside! But for now, I am content to sit in the sun pouring through the windows and sigh with contentment. It’s a good life. Well, it’s a good life as long as vacuum doesn’t come out. I will win this war, just you wait and see Vacuum! But those are thoughts for another day. Today I will enjoy the sun as long as I can. Meow.

Popular!

Mandy said someone asked about me! She said people like reading our blog! I felt like the king of the house! Wahoo! Someone thinks I am pretty special! Mandy and Sam think I am, but sometimes I get tired of their adoration. Besides, they do not always give me what I ask. So, when Mandy said someone else likes me, well, it made me feel pretty special. Also, Mom with Cool Toys leaves us comments. That makes me feel special too.

This weekend was nice, I guess. Mandy and Sam have both been acting funny. They sit around and flip paper around. Mandy says they are reading, but it is a much more quiet activity than normal. It rained most of the weekend. So, I have not been outside much. It is dark still today, so I might not play outside today either.

Also, the mission that will go unnamed is not going well. They last few days I have tried again, unsuccessful, to gain access to my room. I sat outside the room and cried several times. Each time Mandy slowly walked up the stairs and picked me up. Then she brought me back downstairs and cuddled me. This is NOT what I wanted. Mandy seems to know this and it does not seem to bother her that I am unhappy. I will continue to work at breaking into my room. Eventually it will work.

Well, I am ready for Mandy to play with me. Maybe if I pounce on her with my claws out she will play with me. I will try.

Guilt Trip

This week has been wonderful for us! Mandy has been at home with us all week. I think she is tired of being at home, but I try to make her feel bad whenever she leaves. Yesterday, she got all dressed to leave, and I sat in front of the door to stop her from leaving.

She only laughed at me, and told me she would come back. I was afraid she might take off for days on end again, but she only had her small bag, so I figured she would be back soon, just like she said. She didn’t say the “W” word, so I don’t know where she was going to go. I finally gave into Mandy, and I pouted when I knew I would not get my way.

When Mandy came back, she cuddled with me and I told her I was still upset she left. So, I ran away, and she got up to clean some. Peyton followed her around. When she turned on the music, Peyton sang along with the music, and Mandy joined in too. It was pretty funny. I tried to get away from the awful sound, but Mandy had the music so loud I couldn’t hide anywhere. Because of the music, she didn’t hear the man at the front door. When she did figure out that someone had come to the door, she was super excited. She brought this huge box in the house. She started opening it, but I think she got stuck, because she waited for Sam. I loved the box because there was lots of packing peanuts in them. A few slipped out, and I played with them before Mandy noticed anything was missing.

I am not sure what will happen today, I’m pretty sure Vacuum will come out again. Vacuum didn’t come out while Mandy was gone, but as soon as she was back, out comes Vacuum. I’ve never noticed it, but Sam is not around when Vacuum is out -- maybe Sam hates Vacuum as much as I do. I will have to work on Sam. Maybe he can keep vacuum hidden from Mandy.
Well, that gives me something to think about.

Ney Toy!

We got a new toy! Wahoo! Mandy and Sam were really funny all day; they slept late, stayed in their PJs forever, and then went in the big tub. Then, when it was beginning to seem that they would never do anything worthwhile, they left! When they came back, they had a new toy for us! I was so excited! I snatched it away from Mandy and Elway and ran it into the bedroom. I laid it right next to our toy from Mom with cool toys, and guess what! It was the same toy! Only newer with all the feathers again! It is very exciting and we have been playing with it! It's springy and it flies through the air! So much fun! Back to play time! I think Elway has played enough—it’s my turn!

Found!

Mandy is home! She got in late last night, and played with us. Sam said he was going to get her, so I waited by the front door. When Mandy walked in, I was waiting for her. She loved me, until I got all embarrassed and asked to be put down. She laughed at me. I don’t know where she went, but when she opened her suitcase, it smelled so different. I think she may have been with Shrimp Dad and ajulie, but there were other smells we didn’t know. I think she may have seen a dog. I don’t like dog smells, and I am pretty sure I smelled dog. Mandy said she went to the mountains. I have no idea what mountains are, but they smelled good. Maybe someday I will get to go to the mountains. Mandy must have had fun, because she talked a lot when she got in the house. Sounded like she had fun.

Peyton was so excited to see Mandy, but he wasn’t going to let Mandy know. But as soon as she was asleep, he walked all over her and smelled her. He even curled up next to her to sleep. But this morning, he tried to get even with Mandy for leaving by fishing. We have three rules for outside, you may remember them.

1. No Frog Chomping
2. No Bug Munching
3. No Fishing

Peyton broke rule three. Mandy caught him with his paw in the water, claws out. Mandy beat on the window, and made Peyton jump so high he fell off the ledge. It’s a good thing he didn’t fall in the water. Peyton hates water. He ran inside and hid under the bed. Then Mandy closed the window. Sam says we can’t go outside unsupervised now. Thanks a lot Peyton! I love to play outside, and now I can only go when Mandy or Sam go outside. That stinks!

Well, Mandy is going to play with me some more!

GONE!

Mandy is gone! I have no idea where she has gone. I knew something was up on Monday, when she cooked and cleaned like people were coming over and no one came over. Then Sam brought suitcase down. I didn’t think much of Suitcase, until Mandy started putting stuff in the little one. The next morning, Mandy and Sam got up really early, and left with suitcase. Sam came home later, but Mandy has not come home yet. Sam has talked to her on the little talking machine, so I know she is somewhere. While Sam was gone, I tore up something that was on the big suitcase. I left orange string everywhere to show Sam that I was displeased that Mandy was gone. I do not know when she will come home. It is very lonely. Sam takes good care of us, and plays with us, but he is not here much. We miss Mandy. I hope she comes home soon.
If you see her, tell her to come home.
