I’m sorry we have been so delinquent in keeping you all in touch with our lives this past week. Things have been really crazy around here. The really important things are still happening: we get fed breakfast, we get fed our crunchies, our litter box is cleaned. So that is what is imperative!
Last night after I had gone to bed, Mandy got up to fill up her water glass and I told her I was thirsty. She poured water into her hand and let me drink from her hand. I have her wrapped around my little claw! She let me drink and drink until I had my fill. It was sweet! Talk about being a well trained servant! Other cats would only be so lucky to have their people trained the way we have Mandy and Sam trained!
Well, I’m off to sleep some more. I think Mandy looks sleepy, and she is wrapped up in my fuzzy blanket. I am going to snuggle with her for a while.

Dreary Days
It is rather dreary outside. Yesterday the rain started coming in torrents! When Sam left this morning Mandy said there was a lake out front. Elway and I ran to the front window to see the lake! She was not kidding, the entire road is covered in water! I do not know how Sam was able to get out of the neighborhood. I am sure Mandy will leave too, but the water is everywhere. How will she get to the office? She might have to swim.
The rain did stop for a little while yesterday. Mandy came home to feed us dinner and when she went to go feed the fish, we asked if we could go out too. She said she would let us out as long as we didn’t bring dirty paws back in the house. We played outside for just a few minutes, and then Mandy called us for dinner. We came running back into the house but stopped short of knocking Mandy over. We wiped our feet and bellies on the mat. We agreed not to bring dirty paws in the house and we kept our promise. Mandy laughed and said we were good kitties!
Well, with the rainy weather I am sticking pretty close to Mandy; the thunder and lightning scare me a little.

Foiled Sneak Out!
Mandy foiled my attempt to sneak out this morning. Sam left for work and then came right back in. He forgot his small talking device. So, he opened the door and came back in. When he closed the door, it did not seal. I thought I could make it out, but Mandy caught my attempt to slip through the crack, and closed the door right on my nose! It’s ok, next time I will slip out the door so fast, Mandy won’t even know I was trying to sneak out.
Our work out plan is not going well at all. We have been playing with Mandy’s mind by playing with the scale. Well, the down side is, she can’t get a consistent reading on our weight either…so our diet is even more strict.
Well, Mandy is getting ready for work again. I have to go help her.

Poop Party
I mentioned yesterday that we were displeased with Mandy’s tardiness serving dinner. So Peyton and I plotted a way to get back at her. Now, I am not taking full responsibility, because as far as Mandy is concerned, she has no way of placing blame. So, in no way am I claiming sole responsibility.
Anyway, to punish Mandy for her displeasing behavior, we had a poop party! While Mandy was drinking her morning coffee, our feces flopped outside the litter box. We proceeded to try and hide the naughty logs. When that didn’t work, we decided to get back at Mandy for our late dinner. We mashed that muffin into the mat, and then wiped our paws on the floor, the cupboard, and even tracked it into the bedroom. It was a mess, and boy did it smell! What a way to get back at Mandy! We’re brilliant!
When Mandy walked in and found our surprise, she was um, let’s say, livid. I think there might have been some steam coming out her ears! She yelled at both of us. She showed us both the mess we made. Not that she needed to, we knew, and we were proud of our mess! Don’t ever feed us our dinner late! Mandy was so angry that she said if we ever did that again, there would be no dinner! After she said that, we hid from her for a while. I thought the best bet would be to fake sick. At first, I think she felt a little guilty, but I think she knew it was an act when she found me playing with the toy mouse a few minutes later. Peyton said I should wait until evening to play, but I thought she was in the bathroom cleaning our mess. We did a really great job of making a mess. Hoo Flung Dung would have been proud of us!
It took Mandy almost three hours to clean up our mess. She was pretty irate. She even asked someone on the phone if they would take us. She said we were so bad, she’d send us there for free. I don’t think we will ever have another Poop Party. Our happy home and dinner are too important to risk.
Well, I will go. We are still apologizing to Mandy for the mess. Every once in a while she will give us the evil eye, and I know she hasn’t forgotten.

Displeasing behavior
Dinner was late. Such indiscretions cannot be overlooked or forgiven. When Mandy came home from the office last night both Peyton and I were sitting in the kitchen waiting for her to return. We told her just what we thought about her tardiness. She only laughed and picked us up to snuggle. Put me down! I want dinner and I want it now!! Meow!! So, she put us down and fed us dinner. When we finished eating, we thanked her for our overdue vittles. Mandy crashed on the couch after she fed us. She cuddled up with this new blanket from Bomom and Bonedad. Mandy brought the blanket in the other day, and it was in a box. The blanket is so soft that even though we told Mandy we could not forgive her indiscretions, both Peyton and I snuggled into the blanket with Mandy. We purred and loved the blanket, not Mandy, because her behavior needed punished.
Today it is raining and so even though Sam has been at work for a while, it is still dark outside. Mandy says Sam will work on Saturdays for the next several weeks because it is tax season. Now that Mandy is going to the office again, I don’t mind so much. Saturdays are now Mandy and kitty time. We love Mandy and kitty time because Mandy loves, snuggles and plays games with us without distraction.
This morning we got in trouble. Peyton and I were playing, and Mandy said we were too rough. She said she does not like all of the hissing and fussing. She told us to stop several times, but we ignored her. So, finally Mandy came and broke up our fight. Now Peyton is pouting in the bedroom.
Well, since it is so dark, I think I am going to go take a nap. I don’t really want to work out this morning. It’s a sleepy kind of day.

Lazy Hazy Days
Mandy has gone back to work at the office. Thankfully she is not gone as much as she was last year when we lived at Old Home. We are taking the time Mandy is gone to relax. We can spread out all over the house and sleep anywhere we want. I sleep on the sofa.
It has become my spot to sleep because I can see all over the house. Whenever Mandy comes home I can watch her come in and I can see the backyard too. I dream of being able to have free reign in the back yard again. Yesterday Mandy let us play outside. She even let us come in and out a few times but it is just not the same as having the window open. I dream of warmer days.
Well, Mandy is already getting ready to go, so I going to go ask for more food.

Guilt Trip Means Outside Play Time
Mandy has gone to the six letter place. I knew she was going yesterday because she packed her lunch, and left. She was all dressed for work, and I just knew she was leaving us. I sat in the window and watched her go. Peyton stood up and stretched over the plants and made a very sad face at Mandy. He even had big fat tears streaming down his cheeks. I know it made Mandy sad because she looked sad when she waved good bye. I know we were able to make her feel guilty.
When Mandy came home she had a new box of food for us. She put it on the ground and let us sniff it. It smelled so good! We were hungry, but we told Mandy we wanted to play outside. So she let us out. It was cold, but we played outside anyway. We did not want to go back in. It was so nice to be outside again. Mandy tried calling us to come in a few times, but we ignored her. One time Peyton even told her to go away. Eventually she tapped on our dinner dish, and we knew she was going to feed us, so we came in! It was sad to come in, but dinner time was worth it. Our new food was good! It had beef in it!
Well, it’s early, and I think Peyton and I are going to sleep a bit more before we workout. See ya all later!

Pleasing Behavior
Today is completely normal. I like when Mandy and Sam do things normally. It feels safe and right. I like our normal routine and they have pleased me by following it today. Sam went to work yesterday and that is not part out of normal routine. Mandy says we have to get used to it because it’s tax season. What?! Change our routine?! I think not. Meow. Mandy says more changes are coming, so I should brace myself. What could be worse than Sam working on Saturday? Mandy going back to the office? I refuse to allow this. I slept in front of the door so Mandy could not sneak out of the house yesterday. Sometimes I wonder if they are really at the office or if they are merely sneaking out of the house without us. I like that Mandy is here because then I know dinner time will be prompt.
Well, as part of my normal routine. I am off to take a nap. It’s cold and I like to snuggle on the bed.

Musical Visitors
Yesterday was different. Mandy cleaned house fast and then left. She was gone for a long time but then came home with food. She shops for food a lot and we are on diet. It seems unfair.
Anyway, last night we had a house full of intruders. I do not know why Mandy seems to like intruders so much. She enjoys cooking and the house always smells good. These were musical visitors though. They played on the noise maker and sang. It was very nice. I hid very close to my bedroom door so I could hear. They were very pleasant to listen to. I had made up my mind to introduce myself to these musical people, but they were gone. At least I said good-bye. They did not see me, but I tried to be nice. I like when Mandy plays the noise maker, and I like when other people play too.
Perhaps if the musical visitors come back, I will introduce myself and allow them to admire my handsome face. Perhaps.
Well, Elway is ready to play. I think today I would like to play tag. Watch out Elway, here I come!

Shocking News
I have shocking news. Mandy is torturing us with electricity. We try to snuggle her on the couch while she works and she leans over to pet us and send electricity through our bodies. It hurts. I think it hurts her too, because she always jumps back. I don’t know why she is doing this to us. She even has the house wired. Everywhere I go, I am shocked by all sorts of different things. I finally gave up and curled up in a ball to sleep.

Peyton is even struggling with the torture. He hid in his cave to get away from the shocks. Mandy brought his cave into the TV room.
Yesterday when I woke up from my nap I stood up to stretch and the pillows shocked me. I don’t know what we did to deserve this treatment. The worst part is, Mandy is denying any connection to the torture. She brought out some dryer sheets and is rubbing the couch down with them. She says she feels the electricity too and that it makes her hair stand up. She has looked funny lately with her hair all over the place. Maybe she is telling the truth. I wish this torture would stop. It’s awful.
Well, I am off to make Peyton work out. He has been sluggish this morning because of all this shocking treatment. Maybe the exercise will chase away the pain.

Mice Toys!!
We got these amazing mice for Christmas! We love them, and have so much fun playing with them. The best part about the new toys is that they are lifelike. There are many ways we like to play with these toys. They are really great for flipping through the air, and Peyton loves them. They are really great for our work-out plan. Once we get tired of playing with the mice, the real fun starts. We love to position the mice in such a way that Mandy will squeal when she sees them.
Now I have to be honest, we have not made her squeal yet, but we’ve come close. We slid one mouse under the towel closet door. Mandy does not let us play in that closet, so when she opened the door and there was our little toy, she gasped a little. I was watching and it was so funny I rolled over and stuck my feet up in the air and laughed. No Really, I did. Yesterday, we left one under the dining room table and Mandy nearly choked on a banana. So, we are getting close to a Mandy squeal, but we have not been worthy of one yet.
One of the toys we received for Christmas is this ball and it has a mouse inside of it. The ball makes this strange squeaking sound. I know that if we could get the mouse outside of that ball, we could make Mandy squeal. That mouse is much bigger than the others. However, no matter what I do, I cannot convince that mouse to come out of its ball. It just rolls around and squeaks at me. Even when I am gentle, it squeaks. I might not be able to get that mouse out of the ball.
Well, I’m ready to snuggle with Mandy as she works.

Ice and Iron
Ok. So iron and the ice have nothing in common other than I learned about them just recently. This morning Sam told Mandy there was ice on the drive way. MEOW? What’s ice? So I ran to the front door and asked Sam to show me Ice. Apparently he was going to work, but it was very early. He told me I couldn’t go outside alone, so I asked Mandy. She picked me up and carried me out. Meow!!!! It’s cold! She showed me Ice, but all I wanted was to go back inside. Ice? What’s the big deal?! Get me inside, it’s cold!!! Meow!!! So I really don’t know why Ice is so special that Sam would point it out, but whatever. I’ll stay inside, thank you.
Now Iron…that is an unusually angry machine. I’ve seen Iron before but yesterday Mandy was making Iron work and I was on the back of the couch so I could watch closely. I guess Iron takes wrinkles out of Sam’s shirts. So Mandy plugged Iron in and in just a few seconds Iron is hissing and fissing. He is spitting all over the place and grunting. Mandy says my eyes got really big. I tried to get a close look but Mandy said not to bother Iron. Just then Iron spit at me and it was really hot! I think I will listen to Mandy and leave Iron alone. I just don’t understand why he is so angry. Strange.
Mandy said today is the first day of tax season. I don’t remember what that means, other than Mandy has to work and Sam works a lot more. She even got up early and used Vacuum before seven. I can’t believe that awful villain can work before seven. But the good news is Mandy says Vacuum is gone for the day. So we are out playing. I even showed Vacuum how brave I was by staying in the kitchen when he was running. Mandy showed me a safe place in the kitchen to hide when Vacuum comes out, but I don’t think Vacuum knows about the spot. I have never seen Vacuum in the kitchen, only Broom. So I showed Vacuum that I am so brave I don’t have to hide when he disrupts my happy home.

Christmas is Officially Over
So I think Christmas is officially over. All the people have left and the tree is gone. I oversaw the destruction of the tree. Elway assisted Mandy and Sam and they utterly destroyed the tree. Mandy wrapped up all of the ornaments and Sam tore the tree apart and stuffed it in a box. I just watched and inspected the carnage of the tree. I felt bad for the poor tree. It was so pretty, and I enjoyed sleeping under the beautiful lights. Now the braches have been ripped apart and shoved in a box.
I did not blog much while the intruders were here. Mandy says if you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything at all. So she refused my right to blog, but all in all the visitors-- notice I changed the word-- were not so bad. Everyone gave me toys and admired my handsome face. So maybe next time, I will be nicer to the visitors.
The house is back to normal, and Mandy and Sam have gotten back to their normal routine, starting today. As soon as the alarm went off, I was right there to help wake Mandy up. I even woke Sam up too. I made sure they could not go back to sleep, and had to wake up. My suspicions about our normal routine were confirmed when both Mandy and Sam had cereal and gave us their milk bowls. I love our routine, and I am very glad to return to it.
Sam and Mandy are following their Sunday routine. Mandy says our routine will change because tax season is coming. She asks me if I remember tax season, and I do not really remember, so I guess I am going to learn what tax season is soon enough.
Well, I think Elway is sleeping so I am going to use these few minutes of down time to sneak away and nap.

Happy New Year!
We are so tired around here. Mandy and Sam are just bumming around the house, so Peyton and I are just bumming too. I have spent most of the day with Sam and Mandy. I slept in the TV room with them, and they were very quite. I think they are starting to feel better because they are a little more active tonight, but still not as active as normal. So I am taking advantage of their inactivity to spend time with them.

Well, my eyes are heavy and I believe it’s time for another nap.
Elway
I enjoy my new perch because I can see everything in the room, and nothing can sneak up behind me. Sam and Mandy are glad that I am spending time with them. Peyton is close to them too, but he doesn’t like to watch people, so he sits behind us near the tree.
If tonight is like last night then Mandy and Sam will play with the TV, and head to bed. They were up very late last night…way past their bed time. They got up late again today, which meant our breakfast was late. However, since Sam and Mandy are relaxing Peyton and I are catching up on our sleep too, especially since they stayed up so late last night. Mandy said it is a new year, whatever that is. So Happy New Year!
Well, my eyes are heavy and I believe it’s time for another nap.
