It’s been ages since Mandy let me
blog. But she doesn’t let anyone use the computer when Stella is awake, and
since our nap times coincide it has been rough finding time to update you. Life has turned completely upside down. While
I miss our pre-baby life, I don’t assume it will ever go back to “normal.” I
guess the new normal is running and hiding from a little monster that likes to
pull my tail. Mandy tries to keep her from hurting us, and sometimes I allow
her to stroke my hair if she seems like she is in a docile mode. It is also
extremely considerate of Mandy to endorse those times with bribery.
Stella now moves so quickly that
if I don’t watch her carefully she can be upon in no time flat. Peyton doesn’t
seem to mind this new person who has completely disrupted our lives. He sleeps
under her bed, and protects her from small intruders. He also makes sure to
regularly patrol outside. However, he did allow the BIGGEST bug I have ever
seen to gain entrance to our area. Mandy said it was a grasshopper, but it was
so big it looked like a small bird jumping around out there. Mandy said it was too big for us to kill, but
Peyton turned all fierce kitty and wounded the grasshopper until Sam put it out
of its misery.
Mom-With-Cool-Toys and Shrimp Dad
came for a visit. True to her name Mom WCT brought us some really neat toys,
although at first I thought maybe she had forgot us. We have had many good
times with those toys and are very happy she remembered us! Thanks Mom WCT. Shrimp
Dad fed us and opened the windows for us to go outside. However, Mandy glowered
at him over that, and closed them promptly telling us it was too hot for the
windows to be open. Shrimp Dad helped Sam work outside. He cut and wacked at
bushes behind the big tub until the sprinklers turned on and soaked both of
them. Then Sam ran like the wind to turn them off. I laughed at them from the
coolness of the inside window. Right before they left, Shrimp Dad fed us Shrimp
and we were both grateful to eat of the scrumptious meal that has been denied
us for ages. Perhaps Sam and Mandy will cook shrimp more often again. Mom WCT was kind and shared her breakfast milk
daily. However, Peyton claimed it most days, but occasionally we would share.
It was nice to have people in the house that paid attention to us and scratched
our bellies. Now that we are not the center of attention, I miss those belly
rubs.
