The other night, Mandy and Sam left us for the first time since Peyton’s attack. They were not gone for long, but when they arrived home, they had bags for food…for us! We were so excited that we circled Mandy’s legs while she put the food away. We talked to her and told her how much we’d love to try our food, you know check to make sure it was edible. We pleaded and asked. Sam sad Mandy was a softy, but she caved and gave us a can of food. She said it was Celebratory Salmon. Because Peyton hasn’t had another attack, and because he’d lost so much weight.
Honestly, I didn’t care what Mandy’s reasons were I was just thrilled to have a mid-evening snack which we never ever receive. I tried asking for another celebratory can of food last night, but my pleas when unanswered. Mandy said it was a onetime deal, but I bet we’ll get another can out of her in the future.
It’s rather chilly this morning. Peyton and I both slept on the bed last night so we didn’t have to sleep on the cold floor. The warm weather is wonderful, but snuggling up on bed with Sam and Mandy is relaxing.
Since Peyton is feeling better I think I’ll chase him for a little while.
