Bribery

Mandy knows my weak spot…cat treats! She is trying to encourage Peyton to come when she calls, but he refuses. I don’t mind that Peyton refuses to acknowledge Mandy because I get his treat! The only flaw in Mandy’s plan is that she wakes me up during nap time…every day! She seems to think we should sleep in the family room, or help her move around the house like we used too. She says she likes our company, and wakes us up regularly. I always appease Mandy by coming out for my treat when she calls, and I follow her around for a few minutes to please her. She will occasionally express her gratitude with an extra treat.

Last night Peyton was tremendously friendly, which surprised Sam and Mandy. He hung out on the cat couch while Mandy and Sam ate dinner, played, and made sweet smelling balls of dough in the kitchen. While the sweet scents were wafting from the kitchen, I joined Peyton and we stayed with Sam and Mandy until Red Lightening Bug made his nightly appearance. We chased him all over the house and practiced our jumping when he climbed the walls. When Red Lightening Bug flickered out from exhaustion, Peyton and I collapsed in front of the fire place to catch our breath. After a few moments of reprieve, Red Lightening Bug flicked on and off for the next hour. We kept a keen watch-out for the Bug because we never knew when he would appear.

Well, I’m going to go watch out the window.
