Elway finally agreed to let me communicate to the outside world again! I cannot attest to the fact that life is better, but I will not vocalize a tirade and mortify my brother. Well, for today anyway.
This morning Mandy told Elway and me that we had fallen down on our outside protection detail. She reminded us that when we were kittens, we would protect her from bugs not just inside, but outside. I hate to be a fault in anything, but Mandy is right. We refuse to go out when she is in the bug tub in the mornings. Elway blames the heat; I am not going to blame anything other than just not wanting to work for Mandy. However, I did feel a little guilty for allowing Mandy to be unprotected outside. She does feed me after all. I almost went outside with her today, but Elway refused, and I did not want to work alone. Just as she closed the door, Mandy told us to enjoy our break. That was the final straw. What manipulation Mandy! As she was diving into the big tub, both Elway and I ran to the window to beg to be let out. However, Mandy did not leave the big tub until she was ready to come inside. I tried to patrol for intruders from our windows. Elway and I stalked back and forth, however, we could not have protected Mandy if there were any bugs. If she would just open the windows for us, we would happily watch for bugs. But as it is, if we go outside, we are stuck there until I can either open the door, or Mandy is finished in the big tub. Perhaps tomorrow we will try to regain Mandy’s faith in our outdoor patrols. Perhaps. Meow.
This afternoon, I was napping next to Mandy when that awful small talking devise went off. It was the pretty piano song, which means it was ajulie who disturbed my nap. Mandy was thrilled that the machine made noise. They talked for a while, and just when they hung up, Mandy sat down on the floor next to me, and pulled me close. She scratched my head, and I loved it! I sat there and allowed her to admire me for quite some time and then she abruptly stood up and left me! I was enjoying the attention, and then suddenly she is gone! Meow. You would think she would want to love me when I actually allow it.
Well, I am going to try to get a quick nap before dinner.
