Promptness is like Perfection

Around here Promptness is nigh unto Perfection—it is impossible to achieve. Not only was dinner tardy last night but breakfast was belated as well. What does a cat have to do in order to maintain a respectable and timely feeding schedule? Early yesterday afternoon Mandy and Sam left and were late in their return home. It was almost an hour past dinner time upon their arrival. Elway is so forgiving because Mandy cooked their dinner and they ate dinner after us. Then this morning, the two lazy people sleep in like they have nothing to achieve today! I know it is Saturday, but they just ignore their responsibility to feed me, and sleep half the day away!

Then suddenly this afternoon, Mandy rips me out of my napping spot and says it is time to wake up. Just because she slept half the day away does not mean I am in any condition to parade my beautiful face for her enjoyment. Let me sleep!

Although Mandy never apologized for her lack of alacrity in serving my meals, I believe she acknowledged her apathy by allowing Red Lightening Bug to play for over an hour this morning. I was able to run and jump and pounce until my lungs were fatigued. Elway also enjoyed the entertainment and joined in the amusement.

Well, I believe I can slink back to my nap-time hideout and complete my afternoon beauty rest.
