Heating up

It has started to heat up again overnight, and Mandy has not opened the windows for us to enjoy all night. It is very sad to have closed windows again after such freedom and cool outside air! However, it is warmer outside, and I did not spend as much time outside as before when it was cooler.

Mandy is starting to sleep less and less overnight—which has major perks! She gives me crunchies when she gets up! I know it means less crunchies in the morning, but the midnight snack is simply amazing. I tell Mandy regularly, this is now supposed to happen all the time. Midnight snacks are official expected and no longer a dream.

Mandy’s tummy is getting bigger all the time. Sometimes I think she just might explode, so I try not to push on her tummy often. However, since she is awake several times during the night, she is exceptionally difficult to wake up in the mornings. Sometimes I have no choice but to walk on her. I try to step mainly on her ribs, because when I miss, her tummy really kicks at me. It is rather uncomfortable because it throws off my balance, and it always makes Mandy groan in pain. Sam yells at me when this happens. If this happens, I always try to snuggle the unfriendly belly to make up for stepping on it. Mandy then proceeds to snuggle me, but it does not always guarantee she is awake. Sometimes if she grabs me while she is still asleep, I feel trapped.

It was a short weekend. I guess summer really is over as Sam no longer spends extra time with us on the weekends. And his hours are getting a little longer too. I miss our evening playtimes when Sam and Mandy would splash around in the big tub and Elway and I could play outside. It is nice to go outside with Mandy, but it is just not the same without Sam.

Today has been quiet. We are napping and Mandy is working on laundry. I will help her fold it in a little bit if Elway does not wake up first. I would prefer Elway to wake up, but he is become slightly lazy. So, I might have to do his work.
