Best Morning Ever!

This morning has been amazing! We have three rules to play outside:

1. No fishing
2. No frog chomping
3. No bug munching

Well, this morning Peyton broke rule number one! For the third time this week!!! Guess who went for a swim! Not Elway! Nope, I was a good kitty! The first time Peyton was caught, he was only watching the fish and Mandy gave him a warning. The second time his paw was raised in the air, but as soon as Mandy went outside Peyton hid, and since Mandy doesn’t move as fast right now, she gave up the hunt. Today though, Mandy closed the windows and locked Peyton outside because it looked like his paw was ready to scoop up a fish. He gave up running and faced the punishment! After Peyton finished swimming, (he hardly got his paws wet. Seriously Mandy?!) Mandy wrapped him in a big towel to dry him off and bring him inside. He was one unhappy cat. Mandy snuggled him and loved him, just like she did me last year. However, it doesn’t make the swim any more fun. And Peyton was angry! He let Mandy dry him off and warm him up, but he refused breakfast and shunned Mandy. I’m just glad that crazy cat finally got in trouble. He’s pretty good at blaming me, and this morning he had to face the music alone!

I think since this morning, Peyton has let go of his anger. He’s directed his attention to the front door again. There are several frogs that have made their home our front door. So many frogs that Sam and Mandy no longer use the door once the sun goes down. The other day, they let in a lizard and it took a long time to corral him. Anyway, we had four frogs in our sights last night! Two larger frogs right in the center of the glass on the door and two tiny frogs up higher! Mandy says the tiniest tree frog lives on top of the doorbell during the day. We can’t see him during the day, but Peyton watches the door all the time now, just in case.

Well, it’s my turn to guard the door. The windows are open though, and it is hard to pull myself inside. It’s so beautifully cool outside, Maybe Peyton won’t notice if I skip my watch.
