This morning I was sitting in the kitchen window, since Mandy had opened it for us, and I was watching the outside world. I was not paying attention to Mandy so I am not entirely sure what happened but she made a huge mess! After she made Sam’s lunch she was reaching for something in the fridge, or putting something away, she knocked a glass jar on the floor and dark glass and sticky bubbly stuff went flying everywhere!
Elway came running into the kitchen to see what the ruckus was, only for Mandy to pick him up and tell him he could not help her clean up this mess because of the glass. He was offended and is currently pouting in the bedroom. Mandy started picking up little shards of glass, which was entertaining to watch since Mandy has a hard time picking things up off the ground--even when she is close to the ground. Maybe she should have taken Elway up on his offer to help! Anyway, I slithered up behind Mandy to see what she spilled all over the floor. It was one of her Lime Sodey Pops and it was sticky and sweet! Sam came to help Mandy clean up the mess, and between the two of them they cleaned it up. Sam helped Mandy pick up the little pieces she could not reach and Mandy soaked up the pop. Clumsy Mandy—it was a huge mess!
After Sam left for work, Mandy worked out and then there was a loud noise outside. I thought it was the garbage truck, which I love to watch come by, so I ran to the window! But the garbage truck was nowhere to be found! In its place was what Mandy called a city truck. Men dressed in colorful vests climbed off the truck and started cutting some tree branches off of a palm tree. Then they took the branches and tossed them in this truck that ate the branches and spit them out in little bits! I watched the whole time they were there. I have never seen anything like it! I do not know why they were there, or why they cut the branches down, and Mandy seemed surprised to see them. I will have to watch to see if they come back.
Well, I am trying to motivate Mandy to start her day. She promised to make us more food this afternoon, so she needs to get moving!
